Resumen del Editor

"Did you have relations with my brother?"

Good question.

I’d like to preface this by saying it was never my intention to ever get involved in a workplace romance, let alone get involved with the most surly, agitating, and pompous man I’ve ever met who just so happens to be my new friend’s brother.

My intentions were to show students how English and reading books could actually be fun and make a new life for myself in the suburbs of Chicago.

But so far, I’ve managed to be called into the principal’s office; I've been coerced into participating in the teacher's badminton league; and I've instigated passionate fights with Arlo Turner over education and decorum while losing my underwear at the same time.

Known as Mr. Turns Me On, he’s the reason I might get fired from my first ever teaching job.

Funny with touching on serious issues. Loved Date Night Novella

Enjoyed the antics of the group of characters in all 3 books.

Make sure one listens to the Novella at the end, “Date Night”. Multiple LOL through out. Touches on what the “long haul” in marriage is like with aging impact.

Loved this!

MC: Greer & Arlo

4.5/5⭐️
3.5/5🌶

Dual POV, coworkers, enemies to lovers, RomCom, HEA

Greer just got hired for her first teaching job at the same school Arlo works at. In fact, he’s the head of her department and not a fan of her teaching style. The two butt heads like crazy and Greer recruits Arlo’s friends into helping her prank him because he’s being such a dick to her. Slowly they start to connect on a physical level but there’s still so much tension between them.
Yet again, Meghan Quinn writes a RomCom filled with tons of laughs and witty banter. The back and forth between Greer and Arlo keeps you invested in seeing how things develop with them. I’m such a sucker for a good workplace romance book too. This didn’t disappoint.

Perfect narrators for characters

4+ stars.

I'll be the first to admit that I haven't read a ton of Meghan Quinn's books, but after reading this funny romcom, I'm left wondering why I haven't read more. The characters were fun, the story was well developed and I do love a grouch of a man that can grow and change.
I listened to this enemies to lovers/workplace romance and it left me laughing out loud. The narrators, Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber were perfect for the characters Greer and Arlo. Greer is young, laid back and she and her friends seem like a lot of fun. You have to not take yourself so seriously if you plan to prank a man like Arlo, stuck up head of the English department in a prestigious public school. Meanwhile, Arlo is a man that is very set in his ways. It's his way or no way. So, what will he do when the young and fresh-faced Greer comes in and shakes up his world?

Greer and Arlo definitely had major sexual tension all throughout. You could feel it. Even when they said they hated each other, you could FEEL that hate turn into lust. It was fun and entertaining. But after their obvious tension, this story was about the ensemble cast. I frickin LOVED them. The quirkiness of Greer and her girl gang and Arlo and his guy friends made this story work. They were all so different, but brought a different piece to their friendships. I hope Quinn will continue to write in this world because each of these characters deserve to find their HEA.

If you're looking for a fun romcom that has a hero that will frustrate you, but also make you want to hit and love him at the same time, you have it here in Arlo and See Me After Class. The characters bring the friendships, the humor, pranks and sexiness. It's just what I needed for a light December listen/read.
(And the bonus short after this story was a total plus. A steamy little Date Night to end your evening on!)

Hot for Teacher

This one checks off a lot of tropes - age difference, workplace romance, dominance/submission, enemies to lovers, rom/com, opposites attract.

What happens when a stuffy, by-the-book head of the English Department in a prestigious high school is saddled with a free-thinking, non-traditional English teacher in her first full-time teaching position? Especially when the arrogant, stoic, stick-in-the-mud has to share a classroom wall with the "thinks outside the box" newbie who gets her students excited to learn by having them stomp, clap, and chant "We will, we will, read books" to the tune of Queen's "We Will Rock You." He proceeds to ignore her when possible, complain about her teaching style to her and anyone else who will listen, and think about her constantly.

With an entertaining and engaging supporting cast, Arlo and Greer navigate through their differences and the very rocky waters of sexual tension. Beneath his buttoned-up cardigans (one of Greer's weaknesses) beats the heart of a passionate man who doesn't trust easily or allow himself to give to the weakness such passion can reveal. So Arlo denies himself in order to protect himself. Until Greer. I can't look at my kitchen island in the same way after reading this.

Be sure to brush up on the highlights from both Pride and Prejudice and The Great Gatsby. These two classics are heavily referenced in this book.

Both Zachary Webber and Erin Mallon were perfectly fast as narrators for this quick Twitter, cleverly written romantic comedy. There was an extensive cast of best friends/supporting characters and a wide age range of characters for them to voice - and they excelled.

Ugh

I just finished “The way I Hate Him” and I was so excited to try another but ugh. This is maybe my 6th MQ book and they all just seem silly. This story felt juvenile and far fetched.

Absolutely hilarious

Meghan Quinn has easily become one of my favorite authors. She’s absolutely hilarious. I mean snort-laughing to the point of tears. I wanted to throw my phone across the room (audiobook) more than once reading this because of the bundle of emotions.

I loved Greer and Arlo. It’s grumpy sunshine so I REALLY loved them! Arlo and Cora’s struggles with emotional intimacy hit me hard. It’s such a raw representation of the damage that comes from growing up with and emotionally unavailable family. I was so impressed.

If you’re an audiobook lover, you know how exciting it is to see that Zachary Webber is narrating a book. It didn’t disappoint one bit.

I can’t wait to start the next book!

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

My favorite thing about this book was Greer, the main character and her group of friends. She was such a fun character and I loved her playful nature. The way she interacted with the group, no matter how quirky some of her new friends are she just goes with the flow. Arlo, her love interest was a hard character for me to like. He was a complete snobby jerk for 1/2 this book and I struggled to get on board with his abrupt personality change. I need a jerk to still show a softer side so when we finally shows the lovable side it is believable and his 180 was a little rough. That is not to say I didn't like him because I loved him as the Jerk and I loved him as the good guy it was just the transition I had a hard time with. I also have to give kudos to the P & P references and the grand gesture because I am a huge fan of P & P and especially the Keira Knightly version of the movie. Besides the main characters, this book has the funniest, weirdest side characters. Without all of their friends I'm not sure I would have enjoyed this book as much as I did. I would love more books about their friends.

The narration was perfect, I mean Zachary Webber and Erin Mallon... perfection!

Talk about enemies to lovers - wow!

This is a fantastic audio book! Meghan Quinn is a great romcom writer. She writes a lot of angst as well, and there is some drama in this one, but holy cow, this is a fantastic listen.

You will hate the male lead, Arlo, from the get go. When I say enemies to lovers, I don't mean in the traditional "he's really annoying," too much of a player or the leads clash through sarcasm. Arlo and Greer are literally pitted against each other from the moment she starts her new job. They flight over teaching methods, they fight over book choices, they fight over just about everything from moment one. And for a large part of the book, you think there is no way Arlo can possibly redeem himself, but, oh, boy, does he ever.

This was a really great story, and Zachary Webber and Erin Mallon narrated so well! For Zachary to make us hate Arlo and then turn around and love him, well, his performance was great. Arlo's grand gesture at the end is nothing short of a Jane Austen miracle. And through it all, Zachary was able to portray the disdain, the miscomprehension, the grudging respect, the transformation to respect and love - all of the emotions that Arlo went through. Erin Mallon, as Greer, was fantastic and spot-on in her comedic delivery, as well as her heartache.

Great listen. Highly recommend.
