Just keep getting better

I have to say that this book series just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait until the next book comes out. I will be getting it.

Great addition

Just an enjoyable experience all around, and once again Travis Baldree delivers an outstanding performance.

The weakest entry

I think this is the weakest entry so far. The introduction of the new characters didn’t really hook me - I just wanted the original group to keep going about their adventures. Looks like that will change in the next book though!

got tired of the secrets giving the main character power and then tell him I can't use it and then making him stupid

Hay if you want a great book that'll keep you on the edge of your seat and make you laugh your butt off id get this series

A good addition to the series

Well written, immediately disappointed the next one is not yet available. Will preorder when it’s up. Setup the next book nicely with feeling of anticipation of what comes next, without a frustrating cliffhanger.

Another great sequel

This was another new addition to the series. A.F. Kay has never let me down when it comes to this series. This book might be my favorite so far, I really enjoyed this book and I really recommend it if you're looking for a good sequel.


Travis does an amazing job with this series. Everytime Travis does a book. I always talk sbout how good of a narrator he is. Travis is one of my favorite narrators, and he does great with every book.


Characters and plot are honestly just better. I felt this book had everything I liked inside of it. I felt a better connection with the characters. I like the character arcs in this story. i feel the plot is entertaining, and I feel it progressed alot in this story.

in my opinion, this is a must have series.

This book went down hill fast -Missive filler

While i really like the core story, the author decided to take up the practice of reviewing every talent, skill, etc . over and over and over. Always reflecting back on earlier parts of the story and thoughts around skills. Everything is internalized. For a simple action that would take 30 sec.. you get 20 min of filler while the Main Char internalizes why he should do the action or what happened the last time or what could happen. I really hope this does not continue as it has lately with other litrpg authors. its like the last 2hrs of the previous book and this book were written by a different author. The ending is interesting but still the author got caught up in the pitfalls of char development details.. massive details .. find a better way to express char growth and DING>. BLAB BLAH DING>> i just hit forward until it goes away.

Not bad but..

Could have been a lot better if the constant mentioning of the MC's body enhancements.
It felt like every chapter they mentioned this one fact several times and it got a little annoying.
Still enjoyed it though, and I definitely plan on buying the rest of the series.

BEGIN RANT:

I really just dropped in to ask the author to limit the stats and explanations when the story needs to progress. Specifically, when the party was going on a recon and first setting off, the MC buffed up and it took forever before the story moved forward. Every buff, every stat that was increased, every explanation for what the stat did, how it impacted his abilities, some introspection about insecurities and worries, and then (probably) an overall run down of the his stat sheet post buffs and increases. I’m all for crunchy…I love some stats and explanations on how the magic/ability systems work. I also understand the identity of the MC is an intellectual who overthinks everything, and most likely these calculations happen within a fraction of the time the author writes them in (or he’d be dead constantly), but there’s a point when it drags on and on; especially during action sequences. Sometimes action should take precedent over explanation. If we’ve been listening this far, we understand how his abilities work. When you spend time dropping stat points into skills and explaining how each and every one of those skills will work for him when he eventually uses them, do you really need to repeat it when he actually uses them in combat or while moving the story forward? Just explain them when he obtains them, and then use them after that without explanation. It causes the listener to skip forward to finally get to the scene. It was like, “The party exited the tower. MC buffs up. (explanations ensue for what felt like ten minutes or an entire chapter). Dialogue begins again and team departs the location.” It’s getting a little brutal as the characters’ abilities and skills grow to a large number with level increases. RANT COMPLETE.

Now that that’s out of the way. Phenomenal 4th installment. I absolutely love this series. In it’s genres, I’d rank it just below Will Wight’s ‘Cradle’ series. TB continues to the the GOAT. Spend the credit.
