Resumen del Editor

A chilling exposé of corporate corruption and government cover-ups, this account of a nationwide child-trafficking and pedophilia ring in the United States tells a sordid tale of corruption in high places. The scandal originally surfaced during an investigation into Omaha, Nebraska's failed Franklin Federal Credit Union that went beyond the Midwest, ultimately to Washington, DC. Implicating businessmen, senators, major media corporations, the CIA, and even the venerable Boys Town organization, this extensively researched report includes firsthand interviews with key witnesses and explores a controversy that has received scant media attention.

Heart breaking and maddening

Loved hearing the author's words in his own words. Hard hitting facts and tough material but worth the listen.

The Franklin Scandal is explosive and powerful

This book helped me to understand why the government often doesn’t act in the interest of its people. It sheds light on how those who are drunk on power and profit will do anything they can to maintain what they have even at the expense of abusing children. It tell a dark truth about about the hidden hands that govern decision and it offers an explanation as to why our institutions are compromised when it comes to protecting children. It is a must read for those who seek to understand why so many bad decisions are made thus leaving our society vulnerable on many levels. This is a must read for those who seek to understand how governments and institutions work or fail to work. It is written in a way that offers real insight to the reader.

Eye opening, I feel very different now.

I enjoyed this, and I have been recommending it to my friends and family. I lived in Nebraska for nearly 29 years and have even visited boys town not knowing about this until the author was a guest on "Matt and Shane's secret podcast".

Incredibly dark and shocking coverup

I was moved by the horrifying events that Nick Bryant details and blow away by the painstaking details of the pedophile ring and the railroading of Alisha Owens. He does an incredible job narrating and I’m comforted to know that in a very dark world there are people like him dedicated to helping uncover the inconvenient truth.

Sad , heartbreaking, I pray for the children.

you can't have a functi9ning healthy society if you neglect and ignore a child's plea for help.

Worth a Listen

Thought provoking and tragic. Found myself going back and forth as to the credibility of many of the characters. It was a bit rambling at times, but overall cohesive. Put into overall historical perspective, as crazy as all this is, it’s not entirely unbelievable. And that’s what’s scary.

A Must Read to the Blindly Faithful

“Conspiracy” is a word that has undertaken a strong negative connotation, and in many cases is associated with hysteria, superstition, gullibility, and unsubstantiated allegations.

To anyone who hears “conspiracies” of government power abuse, dark cover ups, murder, and outright maliciousness and says “not our government” or “that’s just a story” or “there’s no way. Where is the proof?”, read this book. Read this collection of evidence supporting the claim that the U.S government is not at all what we thought it was. Read the accounts of people’s lives being ruined and ended in the perpetuation of government power. Read this book and then ask yourself: when does a conspiracy become history? What is the burden of proof? The contents of this book prove beyond reasonable doubt that the government is far darker than you previously could have imagined.

Very thorough investigation

The facts speak for themselves. Bryant does a good job of reviewing and presenting his research.

Incredible story of corruption by the "elites"

Ok, first off, the story is incredible. Absolute corruption by the highest levels of government, FBI, Nebraska's judicial system and state police.

Very well written, I wish I read it rather than listen to it and I'll tell you why.

I have a 320 book Audible library, I'm no stranger to audiobooks. If I'm not talking to someone I am usually listening to a book or podcast.

This book is almost unlistenable. If I ever hear the words QUOTE UNQUOTE one more time in my life it will be too many. Literally, I mean LITERALLY with no exaggeration, he says QUOTE UNQUOTE a 1000 times. At least 150 in part 1 of Chapter 1. It's insanity and totally not needed, the book makes the same sense without as I started asking myself WHY WHY WHY did he do this.

Advice, go back and rerecord it without QUOTE UNQUOTE.

Read the book, this is torture to listen too but I still did because the story in unreal.
