Apologia for MBS

Silva's novels are all 3 parts fun and adventure to one part political screed. (A few of them get the ratio wrong.) To use the screed part of this one to try to rehabilitate the murderous dictator of Saudi Arabia is to make this the Alon novel most will wish had not existed.

Well crafted twists but disappointing

As with many long running series, there are diminishing returns - despite Silva’s technical skill at storyweaving and Guidall’s excellent narration, this one was curiously uninvolving, not my favorite. As another reviewer said, the title is misleading. ‘Game of Princes’ might have been more apt -

Anyone who has read any of Daniel Silva’s books will not be disappointed. The story is exciting with my international plot twists.
Great book for audible.

Superb narration

Many characters a lot of scenes but the narrator does his finest pulling it all together. Daniel Silva is my favorite author for this genre and I look forward to the release of his films.

Must read!

Loved it. Kept me enthralled and on the edge of my seat. Excitement and the unexpected in every chapter.

Couldn't put it down

Unexpected twists! I was left hoping for specific character's fates. Interesting and unsettling parallels to current events. One could grow quite attached to each character; for better or for worse. I am left wanting the next book!

Another great Gabriel Allon book!

Silva likes to bring current events into his stories, and this one is no different. Though altered to be fiction, you can easily recognize echos of the real world. A great story.

A wonderful continuation of the series

As usual, timely, exciting, entertaining and thoughtful. Special plaudits to George Guidall for spectacular narration. No one could better perform Gabriel’s pithy retorts. You could dive into this one not having read or listened to any others, but great experience to start with #1 & follow the development of the wonderful characters in the scope of current affairs.

really difficult to listen to

the story line is classic Silva, but the narration is dreadful. too fast, abrupt pauses in odd places, slurring over place and personal names.
