this was amazing

Danny Coughlin's Bad Dream, Rattlesnakes and a couple others had me on the edge of my seat.

You like it darker

The first story was heading in the right direction. I also liked the one with the kids and the stroller.Narration was excellent.

Long Live The King

This is another wonderful anthology from King. The stories are dark and many catch you off guard just as the twists and turns of the lives we live play out. Each story hooks you and keeps you reading. Each story is filled with the observations and empathy I’ve come to know and love while visiting many of the other tales spun by The One and Only.

Worth the wait

I enjoyed all of the stories in this conglomeration, but some of my favorites were definitely answer, man and rattlesnake.

Fantastic narrator of course. Stephen King was ahead of his time when it came to audiobooks. When other authors had monotone narrations Stephen King saw audiobooks as another art form and had narrators that were top shelf. It is really unbelievable that Stephen King can write so much material and each and every release is amazing. These stories are so good that I feel like a wreck after listening to one. I need to take a break and listen to something like we are Bob that doesn’t trigger me emotionally before circling back to this collection. Strongly recommend

We love it darker...

One of his best. No one slays short stories like the one and only Sai King.

King still has it. Patton is outstanding.

King is the most recognizable writer in the genre. He’s the name that first comes to mind for most people when they think of horror literature, and this new collection shows that he hasn’t missed a step. The stories in “You Like It Darker” live up to the title, and are more outwardly introspective than much of his past works, which in my opinion may detract from the overall scares, but that doesn’t at all make them bad stories.

But for as great as the words are, it’s Patton’s narration that makes this a true 5-star book for me. It’s a smart decision having a screen actor do the audiobook. The way Patton brings different characters in the same story to life is masterful. He doesn’t do voices per se, but he doesn’t need to. And the emotion can be felt in the way few audiobooks (in my experience) seem to accomplish (and I say that with respect to all voice actors - it’s an astonishingly difficult task!).

Absolutely worth the time.
