Publisher's summary

Cross the border. Discover the truth.

Listening with headphones recommended.

How far would you go to expose the truth when even you can’t believe it?

Vivica Fox and Teresa Ruiz lead an all-star cast in a story that blends thriller, mystery, and psychological horror for a truly unforgettable listening experience.

Fox stars as Tory Newton, a single, no-nonsense woman traveling on business to a bustling border town. When women protesters disrupt the Governor’s big pitch, Tory is thrown together with Alicia, a beguiling activist who promises to reveal a huge scandal. Tory is hooked, in more ways than one - not realizing exactly what she’s being reeled into.

Presented in found-audio style, Loops takes listeners through increasingly unpredictable twists and turns, jumping back and forth in time. The story hurdles towards a truly jaw-dropping conclusion that will have audiences re-playing earlier passages for revealing clues.

Along with Vivica Fox (Empire) and Teresa Ruiz (Narcos: Mexico), the cast includes Feliz Ramirez (Grand Hotel), Yul Vazquez (Russian Doll), Antonio Jaramillo (Mayans MC), and Carlos Santos (Gentefied).

Thrown for a Loop

The performances were ok but the story got a little weird. It veered away from being a mystery thriller into science fiction later in the story. I couldn't quite pull it together.

I still don’t get it

I’m really not sure what happened in the story about corruption and murder. The acting was great but I’m scratching my head but not compelled to go back and listen.

Exciting Performance!

Interesting story, albeit a bit hard to follow. I listened to it twice and I'm sure I still missed some things. The actors were amazing though, love performance audio!

Fantastic Audio - Neglectful Story

Hollywood-level audio, but the story is painful and forgettable to the point where I was trying to skip ahead to just get to a manageable part.

Ok story, bizarre presentation

This isn't a narrated book, it's a dramatic performance. This means that, often, you must listen carefully even to figure out where the action is happening. I don't mean to say that's a flaw - but you'll want to know what you're in for.

Headphones are the best way to listen - unless you have an exceptionally quiet-running car, you might have to crank the volume way up to catch everything of importance if you're listening while driving.

Vivica Fox does a decent job - but the story calls for her to deliver almost every line in an angry, defiant, or distraught tone of voice. This wore on me after a while.

The story has a big and bizarre twist that I did not see coming - but by the time it drops, it has a LOT of heavy lifting to do. I'm not quite sure it worked.

I cannot with this book!

Two hours that I cannot get back. I listened as long as I could. The writing style was all over the place. The background noise was distracting. Not sure why Vivica Foxx agreed to do this. I wish she hadn't, I might not have waisted a credit.

Blair Witch, Sixth Sense, Memento

First thing, read the description and understand what found audio style means as well as full cast because apparently, most reviewers didn't understand either too well. Second, the title Loops has meaning. The story is told via a cast not a simple narration and skips around, replays things, gives a lot of details on what's going on in parts, some subtle some not so subtle, so don't just listen passively or you won't hear what they are telling you. There is a lot to unpack, some aspects left unanswered for a good reason, but it's a fun ride.

Some of the sound effects are a bit much and louder than I would have chosen, but it makes sense when you consider how and why things happen as they do.

Give it a chance, the performances are good, the story provides some hard-hitting realities some choose to ignore, and the style keeps you guessing.

It was a daring production.

No idea what’s going on in this story

Annoying all the feedback. Might have been decent with visuals but not just audio. Sucked.

Confusion

I listened to this in one sit. I didn’t understand the end. I might need to listen again but I don’t know if I really want to.

Hard to follow without narrative.

The performances were excellent. I enjoyed the new experience of a “tv show” listening method. But there was too much going on that was never explained, and when it ended I had so many unanswered questions.
