Publisher's summary
You’ve seen Kevin Hart rule the stand-up circuit. You’ve watched him take over Hollywood. You’ve even seen him slay the New York Times best seller list. Now he’s going to help you own your monsters.
Following his popular titles I Can’t Make This Up and The Decision, Kevin is back sharing the practical wisdom that he’s gained from a profound, life-changing event. Monsters and How to Tame Them is Kevin’s most recent guide on how to live your best life, wrapped in his signature honesty, hilarious voice, and adept storytelling. You’ve heard stories about vampires, zombies, and ghosts. Now it’s time to meet some of the monsters that haunt your mind. Kevin will introduce you to Control Monster, or the need to control everyone and everything around you that ultimately limits your chance to grow. Then there’s Comparison Monster. This one makes you compare yourself to others, causing irrational jealousy. You’ll also meet Approval Monster, that nagging feeling deep down inside you that just wants likes and approval from the entire world, which leads to endless emptiness.
If you’re afraid of these monsters and more lurking around every dark corner, let Kevin, the monster hunter, show you how to train those bad tendencies we all have in the recesses of our minds. But first, you’ll have to look and see who or what is hiding under your bed. Kevin’s got you. Now get them.

Story
In his early 20s, Curtis Jackson, known as 50 Cent, rose to the heights of fame and power in the cutthroat music business. A decade ago, the multi-platinum selling rap artist decided to pivot. His ability to adapt to change was demonstrated when he became the executive producer and star of Power, a high-octane, gripping crime drama centered around a drug kingpin's family. The series quickly became "appointment" television, leading to Jackson inking a four-year, $150 million contract with the Starz network - the most lucrative deal in premium cable history.

Arnold’s stratospheric success happened as part of a process. As the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem-solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back. All of it guided by the one lesson Arnold’s father hammered into him above all: be useful.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Bert Kreischer doesn't know how to say "no." If he did, he wouldn't have gotten himself mixed up with a group of Russian mobsters on a class trip to Moscow, earning him his nickname: "The Machine." He wouldn't have wrestled with a bear or swum with sharks on national television. He wouldn't have (possibly) smoked PCP with a star of Saturday Night Live. And he wouldn't have been named the Number One Partier in the Nation by Rolling Stone, inspired the movie National Lampoon's Van Wilder, or performed standup to sellout crowds across the country.

Story
Welcome to the summer of 1985 in Philadelphia, when the city was rocked—in almost every sense of the word—by two unprecedented events: Mayor W. Wilson Goode’s May 13 decision to bomb the headquarters of MOVE, a controversial Philadelphia-based radical communal organization, and the July 13 Live Aid concert, where international rock royalty convened in Philly to raise money for victims of the Ethiopian famine. Separated by just two months and eight miles, these events would showcase both the best and the worst of the so-called City of Brotherly Love.

Amazing.
This audible original presented things that I already knew about myself in ways that I have never thought about it before. I said to myself “Shit. He’s talking about me.” And by the end thought “I can do that; I’m about to have better control of my life.” I laughed.. man did I laugh. Also, I sent this to mad people; people who need to take their damn monsters because my monsters can’t have play dates with theirs anymore. Y’all just give it a listen. It’s good.

One of the greats
You know, I’ve always liked Kevin Hart’s comedy. Thought he was decent when he started making movies. Forgave him when he cheated but never excused him. Now I know why. He pours his heart and soul into everything; his greatest heights, and lowest lows. Simply embracing the pieces and parts that make him who he is and doing something with them, even if that something is disarray, or makes no sense, or is a plain bad decision. He just never wastes time and is so much more than the money or fame he has today. I was surprised at how much I felt he’s a fairly intense motivator but I liked this audio book a lot. I would certainly recommend it to those of all walks of life. Enjoy.

Strap on your awareness goggles and let Kevin Hart give you an insightful tour of the Monsters within us all.
This book was the BEST surprise!! I deeply appreciate the work of both Kevin Hart and Neil Strauss- when I saw they partnered to share some self- help nuggets in the package of comedic insight- I was intrigued.
Curiosity turned into full blown admiration as each chapter progressed. I found myself laughing out loud like a lunatic in my car on more than one occasion and I appreciated the vulnerability Hart shows in using his life experiences as cliff notes of learning for us all.
As an intuitive life coach for Highly sensitive people (and kids), I am always looking for ways to show people how potent the art of awareness is in our lives. Hart (and Strauss) have created a guide book to help us better understand and appreciate the rowdy monsters in us all. I highly suggest this book - for all levels - whether you are just beginning your journey of self discovery or are already deep into your Personal Legend, this has been one of the funnest rides through human psychology that I have taken in a long, long time. Enjoy! And if you get crazy looks for slapping the steering wheel and laughing like you’ve just broken out of the loony farm- smile and wave at all those untamed monsters growling back at you because you will be learning ALL their stinky secrets…and having the time of your life doing it!
In ease and grace,
Kimberly Crawford
