Publisher's summary

The moment those words come out of the doctors mouth, I feel sick. So sick. The life I have dreamed of obliterated. And Brody. God, Brody. How will he look at me? How can he accept me? He'll know what I hid from him. He'll know everything. It's over. It's completely over. I can't tell him "I love Us" anymore. Even though I do. Even though it will kill me. I can't tell him anything. Everything is ruined. Pummeled. Broken. I have to leave him. I have to give up us. I know he'll come after me. I just have to do something to make him not want to.

Beautiful Love Story

I really liked the narrator Emma Lysy. I thought she did a job with all of the accents and male and female voices.

The story itself is really good to. There were a few times when I wanted to slap Fin upside the head but I still loved the story. I will definitely be reading/listening to more books from Amy Daws in the future.

3 Meh Stars

I wanted to love this book… but it’s the same narrator as book one… I don’t know what it is about her voice; I just played it on 2.5x speed. I wanted to listen through because well I paid for it.

I loved Brody throughout this whole book. But I find he isn’t the same Brody described in the later books (which I read first and LOVED). But he is the one of the reasons I fought through the narrator’s voice. It’s not a bad book if you liked book one, you will like book 2.

Fin… I have a love, hate relationship. I just found her character to be selfish and maybe a little immature. No I am not heartless I get her struggles but she didn’t anyone in either. And that is what I don’t understand. She has this huge wonderful support system that would fall all over themselves for her, and she didn’t even give them a chance.
I don’t like one darn thing she did in this book. Well except when she is with her sister. Those were the best and saddest parts of the whole book for me.

Now please don’t think I didn’t like the book because I liked parts of it. I am not scared to give a lower star rating if I didn’t like the book.
I fully believe it was the narrator for me, and maybe that I didn’t really like Fin’s character as a whole, but honestly the rest of the book is aces.
I <3 the stuffing out of Frank!! As well as the rest of the crazy cast.

Beautiful and believable story

Would you consider the audio edition of A Broken Us to be better than the print version?

I haven't read it in print so I can't make that comprising.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Narrator did a good job with this book especially with characters who had English accent.
The only thing that was slightly negative was the pace.
It was too slow at the times and I had to turn up the speed of talking.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were many parts that made an impression on me but there was this one in particular towards the end that touched me so deeply I actually CRIED, like real tears.
My heart was hurt and I had troubles breathing, it felt like I was in a real pain :(

I finished this book yesterday but couldn't write a review right afterwards like I usually do.
I had to sleep on it and gather my thoughts and feelings and do this properly.

It was a beautiful story about love, trust, family, friendships, our fear of losing the ones we love because of our own personal failures as we like to call them.

The way it was written felt so real and was easy to connect to authors way of thinking.
It was like reading a very personal diary of a long lost friend.

Many times while listening I was trying to compare myself with the leading female character and wondered how I would do things that she did.
Would I have made the same choices?
Or would I have stayed and faced the reality of the truth laid down?

Any additional comments?

I would definitely recommend this to future readers/listeners.
It will be worth your while without a doubt.

Forever Loving Us

I was very happily surprised by these two books from Amy Daws that I thought at first, here I go, with the same old troupe of College romance. I thought that Finley had a terminal illness and that she was leaving Brody for Jake and was so happy that these two found a way back to their ‘us’, because I loved their us.

Can’t wait to find out where the friends across the pond find their own love stories.

Loved how you dealt with such emotional issues in such a heartfelt way Amy Daws, ♥️ goes to you and any women who have been in these shoes and feel your compassion for them shine through this story.

A lesson in love

Wow, what a heart wrenching story with not one but two tragic events. Please grab a box of tissues when reading/listening to this book.

It takes a lot of work

A lot of work for a long term committed relationship to flourish, a hella lot too be happy with what you have. Love isn't perfect but it's worth it.

I've been married for 22 years, I know. This book is full of love and hard feelings work. Laughs, tears, and a sigh of happiness. It's a journey, start with the first in the series, but you don't have to. It'll stand on its own. Great job.

The only reason it has one less star is there was a bit much whining at times, still worth it.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

I knew once I listened to this book I would end up loving Brody. I actually felt so bad for him in this book because he didn't have any idea what was going on and even once he found out it was insulting to him. I was glad to see these two work things out and realize that love is all they need to be happy. I enjoyed getting to know the other London friends in this book. Leslie was hilarious. Can't wait to start her book. I will admit this series might have a little more drama than I like in my books but I'm still really enjoying it!

The narration was again just ok, nothing stands out positive or negative for me.

Back and Forth

Dang that one was tough. I think I cried through the last 5 chapters.

The one thing about this book that I didn't like is all the back and forth. It felt like every time Finley was willing to walk away was the only time Brody was willing to listen or fight for her. Any time Fin was trying to fight for him or their relationship was when Brody would run in the other direction. I really got tired of that.

Very emotional

What did you love best about A Broken Us?

I loved Brody's demeanor. I also enjoyed the secondary characters. The depth of these characters is wonderful

What did you like best about this story?

I like the emotions of the story. Not a single tear was glossed over in this novel.

What about Emma Lysy’s performance did you like?

I loved her voice changes with the character and emotion.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Can the boundaries of love be broken by the consequence of fate?

Meh.....

I am an Amy Daws Fan, but I’m just not feeling this one. It was so chalked full of drama I was choking on it. I just wasn’t feeling the story line I prefer the Harris brother series.
