Publisher's summary

Love is for other people, not for me….

At least that’s what I believed, until I met him. Julian Hill. The most famous rock star on the planet. A music god with untidy hair and the voice of an angel.

I’ll never be anything but out, and he has very good reasons to stay in the closet. After all, every move he makes is dissected, critiqued, and shared on social media, so he just wants a little privacy. I understand that. Truly, I do.

But no one makes me feel the way he does, and I’m pretty sure he has feelings for me as well. Which is inconvenient, since his record label just hired me to sue him. Guess I should’ve sorted things out before I kissed him…oops.

Ambiguous is an addictive MM bisexual romance novel about a fashion-forward rock singer who hates labels of all kinds (except for clothing), a dapper attorney who already has a (fake) boyfriend for a very good reason, and the possibility of love saving the day in a sensually stimulating “opposites-attract” romance story. In addition to the compassionate, big-hearted main characters and engaging, steamy interactions, LGBTQ+ romance fans are raving about the refreshingly honest discussions about homophobia, acceptance, bisexuality, and gay rights, which flow seamlessly into the heartwarming, soul-stirring love story.

Wonderful opposites attract love story

I am a big fan of both Hamish and Kirt’s work and having them collaborate was everything I didn’t know I needed. Very good job well down! The reciprocated but unable to act on it pining between Jules and Sam was palpable. Excellent listen. Really endearing characters who will win you over yet sadly they have big obstacles in their way in order to be together. I like how Leslie McAdam explains Jules’ sexuality and his refusal to be labeled. This will definitely be a relisten for me.

An Endearing Story!

Ambiguous by Leslie McAdam was highly enjoyable. The two main characters have a slow relationship with buildup, but somehow it makes it better; their relationship feels genuine. One is a lawyer who's given up on love, while the other is a famous singer who feels like the world is on his shoulders. Both of them bring out the best in each other. Sam, the lawyer, is quiet and a bit awkward, but Julian, the famous singer, brings out his confidence, and Sam makes Julian think more introspectively. Both are a beautiful couple. The story revolves around Julian needing to make an album. While Julian works on his album, he finds love in Sam and inspiration for his songs. This story made me feel warm and happy. I rooted for both characters the whole time; I could not stop smiling; I highly recommend this book! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Ambiguous

I am starting out with the narration of this fantastic audiobook.
Hamish is the perfect Julian Hill, his voice sooth something in me I can't explain it. I have listened to a fair amount of books he has narrated and I just adore him.
Kirt is newer to me but he was again perfect for Sam.

These two you wouldn't think go together yet they couldn't be more perfect for each other. Fate or what have you get these two together and you can't help but fall in love with love as they fall for each other.

I like that Julian doesn't label himself. But Sam does, because as they grow they see that sometimes its ok to label or not label yourself but when you do the community you find makes it worth it.
I just sigh adored this book.

Adorkable!

Adorkable!

This is one of those I am so glad I did audio before reading
Great Narration that made it easy to connect with the characters

Sam is a follow the rules, thinks things through, don't rock the boat kind of guy - a little shy and a touch quirky = completely irresistible
Whereas Jules is - well Jules.
He doesn't like labels and doesn't fit into any specific box

So what happens when two slightly broken very opposite men find themselves in uncharted waters?
Some very uncomfortable situations, some artful redirection, and a whole lot of smexy
These two fit each other flawlessly. The chemistry between them was hot as hades.
The open communication - there is a scene when Jules questions Sam's motives (being famous has its drawbacks) but Sam calls him out - made their relationship feel that much more tangible
They stole my heart

This does have some light angst
It also touches on some political as well as social issues - however, they are done in a way that does not distract from the overall storyline

Great love story.

This was a really sweet and endearing story with a HEA. It focuses on love, acceptance, and standing up for what it right. Definitely not your typical Bad Boy Rockstar. You’ll fall in love with the MC’s and the narrator’s did an excellent job. If you notice that Jules narrator’s voice sounds familiar. It is the same guy that narrated Boyfriend/Husband Material. He just goes by Hamish in this book. Enjoy, I know I did!

Swoony AF

Wow, Sam and Julian's story is so sweet and swoony. Sam is a lawyer who is openly gay, while Julian is a rock musician who doesn't conform to being labeled. They meet when Julian fails to turn in his next album and Sam is the lawyer representing the album labels interest.

Sam and Julian are instantly attracted to each other, however Sam being the bow-tie wearing clean-cut, nice guy refuses to compromise his position of power and so they agree to remain friends.

Kirt Graves and Hamish Long did a fantastic job narrating. Both were able to provide unique voices to the various characters, and they effortlessly delivered the emotion and longing between Sam and Julian.

The Rock Star and the Lawyer

This book has every perfect element of a proper romance novel. From the meet-cute beginning to the smile inducing HEA–and all the swoony sweetness in the middle, this book delivers the entire delightful package. A few tropes incorporated in Leslie McAdams’ lovely storytelling are slow-burn, lowish-heat, and forbidden-love. The purposeful pace of Julian and Sam’s relationship allows ample time for them to really get to know each other. McAdam conveys to readers a beautiful journey to falling in love.

I love listening to dual-narrated romances. Kirt Graves and Hamish Long both deliver top-shelf performances in ‘Ambiguous’. They each flawlessly interpret McAdams’ fantastic characters.

This audiobook was given to me by request as an ARC and this review represents my voluntary, honest opinion of it.

Recommended.

Very good story

Leslie McAdam definitely knows how to write a great MM romance. This book has all the feels and keeps you listening and interested in what's going to happen next. This narrating team is outstanding. I love Hamish Long and adding Kirt Graves really kicks it up a notch. The characters are definitely brought to life by these narrator's. Book one is well worth the credit and your time to listen. Can't wait to hear what's up next in the series.

Enjoyable Listen

This is the second book I’ve read by Leslie McAdam and I’m reminded how much I enjoyed her writing. She has a firm grip on her characters and their world. You forget it’s a book.

I enjoyed listening to this love story. I appreciated the time they took getting to know each other. It was refreshing. They built a connection early on m, which started in a very awkward meet cute. It was very memorable for both men! The connection remained throughout the entire book.

The narrators did a fantastic job. I don’t know if I could say which did a better job. They both were perfect for the character they provided a voice for. I can’t imagine anyone else doing it better. I highly recommend this audiobook.

Rocking the lawyer!

If you like rock star romance this one’s for you!
Being a star in the music industry isn’t always glamorous, sure you can wear gender bending clothes, do and say what you want…but when your record label has you under contract and demands you produce your next hit record … you’ve got no inspiration for songs… they send their lawyers in to threaten you.
Only you’re not supposed to fall in love with the lawyer sent to handle you! Especially when you’ve kept your sexuality ambiguous and he’s everything you’ve ever wanted in a partner.

This is a nice slow burn and low angst novel. The characters and world building are good, but at times I wanted more from them.
The audible narration is amazing and what kept me hooked on the plot. If I were reading this one I would have had problems staying focused…so definitely go with the audible version.
