Publisher's summary

When Eli Block steps into his parents' living room and sees his childhood crush sitting on the couch, he starts a shameless campaign to seduce the young rabbi. Unfortunately, Seth Cohen barely remembers Eli and he resolutely shuts down all his advances. As a tenuous and then binding friendship forms between the two men, Eli must find a way to move past his unrequited love while still keeping his best friend in his life. Not an easy feat when the same person occupies both roles.

Professional, proper Seth is shocked by Eli's brashness, overt sexuality, and easy defiance of societal norms. But he's also drawn to the happy, funny, light-filled man. As their friendship deepens over the years, Seth watches Eli mature into a man he admires and respects. When Seth finds himself longing for what Eli had so easily offered, he has to decide whether he's willing to veer from his safe life-plan to build a future with Eli.

Come for the romance, stay for the wacky weddings

First off, I love everything by Cardeno C! But this story, two friends with opposite temperaments and a pretty decent age gap figuring out how a relationship can actually work... it’s one of my favorites.

I love Seth and Eli SO much!

Looking for narration that will have you laughing out loud, blushing at the sexy times, and cheering at the HEA? Look no further - Walk With Me delivers on all fronts. Filled with humor, hotness, and pure happiness Alexander Collins delivers a spotless performance.

Their story takes place over thirteen years, allowing you to really get to know Seth and Eli and to root for them to be together. This isn't a typical insta-love story. There is definitely relationship building and some major UST. When the sexy times finally commence after the slow, slow burn? Let's just say Seth may be professional and proper in the pulpit, but he is a freak in the sheets, and me likee. Me likee long time.

This is also one of Cardeno's funniest stories. Seriously, there are so many laugh out loud moments in this, I can't even count them all, but I sure am grateful for them. The invitations at the beginning of each chapter are hysterical, and all the wedding shenanigans and fails are worth listening to the narration for alone.

hystericallaughter

Low angst, humor, heat, and light fluffy goodness - fans of the Home series collection (and newcomers alike) should be absolutely delighted with the story and narration performance. The story and narration is perfect!

HIGHLY AND DECIDEDLY RECOMMENDED!!

Great narration, Sweet and Fun Story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to my friends who enjoy this type of romance. It has a great story-line and is just fun to listen to.

What does Alexander Collins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Alexander Collins really made this story come alive for me. Reading the book just isn't the same since I'm not very familiar with the Jewish faith and hadn't even hear of some of the terms. Alexander brought the accents, language, and the humor that is in this book alive for me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

In this story Seth officiates over many theme weddings, most of which do not exactly go down the way they were intended. I couldn't help but crack up over many of these scenes and it made the book just fly by.

Any additional comments?

Even if gay romance isn't you normal genera, this story is such a fun read that it was very enjoyable for me.

Walking together to happiness

This was my first book in the Home Series, yes I went way out of order. It was also my first book by narrator Alexander Collins. I admit at first I didn't like the narration, in-fact had I not been driving to work I may have turned it off and said, No. However, I am glad I continued and kept listening because this narrator, once you get used to him really does a good job. He adds little extras such as changing the tone slightly based on what a character is doing, for instance during a phone conversation he actually made it sound like a phone call does -I appreciated his ingenuity. So if you are like me..give this book a chance.

Story wise, again this was my first exposure to the characters of the Home series. So, I think it's safe to say you can enjoy the books out of order. This story starts out sorta slow as we watch Eli grow from a teenager lusting after his Associate Rabbi Seth Cohen, and Seth thwarting his advances. There were some laugh out loud moments during these years and some moments where I wanted to just scream at Seth to get off his high-horse and give in to poor Eli. Then there were moments where I really didn't like Seth because he seemed to always give Eli a glimmer of hope just when Eli was going to move on. Overall, I appreciate the way Cardeno C brought these two together and how we got to watch them not only mature in age but emotionally and mentally as well, in the end they become each other's safe place -each other's home. Another great story from CC ~ Can't wait for more!

Seth and Eli

6+ stars! I haven't laughed that often or that hard throughout a book in a very long time. Eli is introduced to us at 18 and ready to head out to college. He's brash, bold, and very overtly sexual toward Seth. Seth doesn't do 'casual'. I liked that Seth wanted a man, not a boy. He wanted someone to spend his life with and wasn't willing to settle for less. Eli's reaction to Seth finally being his was beautiful. The wedding invitations at the beginning of each chapter were great. The final chapter was just the cherry on top of the whole thing.

Audiobook: terrific narrator

sweet listen

Cardeno C is one of my go-to authors where I sometimes really really love the story and sometimes just enjoy. This is not one of my favourits but absolutely not last on my CC list. I liked Eli very much and his personality is the main reason why the story works. The story is build up kind of like the movie four weddings and a funeral with Seth being the link - since he is the one performing the ceremonies. The story is sweet but not that complicated and no real surprises but that is not always a bad thing - its just not really exciting either. So - all in all - enjoyable but not exceptional. AC does an excellent job narrating.

Super sappy wonderful story with awesome narration

Cardeno’s home series is one of my all time favs! In previous books we’ve met the established couple, Eli and Seth, but now we get to hear their love story.

Eli is a young 18 year old when the story begins. He’s the son of the rabbi that Seth is working for. It turns out that the two had met even before this, when Eli was even younger and at summer camp. Seth had managed to really make an impression on the oh-so-horny Eli and Eli isn’t afraid to let him know.

Seth, who identifies as straight to begin, only sees Eli as son of his boss, and kind of a pest at first. Eli is over the top flirty and ridiculous with cheesy innuendos and come ons.
Over the years, Seth and Eli develop a deep and abiding friendship. Seth listens to Eli’s discovery of sex and his troubles in finding a boyfriend and Eli listens to Seth’s horrible wedding stories – there are so many of them!

It hurts to be rejected over and over, so eventually Eli decides to move on. He tries to date other guys, but not one of them ends up being “the one”.

After literally years, Eli finishes college and moves home to work on a PhD. Finally – Finally! Seth acknowledges that the “crush” Eli feels for him is more than that and the friendship they share can be so much more. He wrestles briefly with the fact that Eli is a man and not the woman he thought he’d end up with, but in the end his love for Eli and his willingness to explore lead them both to a real relationship of both friendship, super hot sex and love.

**

Eli is a hoot! He’s cheeky, brash, sometimes insecure and always honest. He never hides his emotions and that is truly refreshing.

Seth is a true nice guy. He puts up with so much – not just from Eli but also from his job! It was great watching their relationship grow- oh so slowly – over the years and when they do finally come together it is super-nova HOT!

Seth is surprisingly kinky and it’s wonderful to see Eli finally have the tables turned on him!

I thoroughly enjoyed this series and this ranks among the top as my favorite in the series.

(I love the new covers – this is my favorite – they are so damn cute!)

Audiobook

Alexander Collins sounds pretty much exactly like Mark Westfield… so I’m not sure what the name thing is all about but…
No matter what he calls himself, he does an absolutely amazing job with this! He does this great thing when there are phone calls or people in the hallway, it really makes it sound distinct and different like the people are talking from a distance. I found it really added to the story and made it seem even more like it was a movie or something. It definitely felt more realistic and made me even more immersed in the story. He does a passable Jewish accent ( although sometimes it sounded kind of Indian…) I loved this book and this narration made it even better! I highly recommend both the story and the narration!

Sweet Friends to Lovers Romance

Very sweet love story with a friends to lovers theme. Cardeno C. includes a good deal of humor in this one, in the form of "weddings gone wrong". There are some pretty funny mishaps.

I did the audiobook which was narrated by Alexander Collins (who I completely forgot is also Mark Westfield whom I love, so I was pretty happy about that). I really enjoy his voice.

I truly enjoyed this book!

Would you consider the audio edition of Walk With Me to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version, so I can not which is better.

What did you like best about this story?

It was not one of instant love but one of friends becoming lovers and maybe something more. Seth is a Rabbi working with Eli's father and while Eli shows interest in Seth, he's hesitant for numerous reasons. I do not know if Rabbis are this accepting of one's sexuality but I enjoyed this greatly because there was not any negativity. Another aspect of this book I liked was that it was over a large time span. It was not they meet today and 6 months from now happily ever after. I got to see the internal struggle to accept something may never be, and to question one's self. A lot of my favorite parts were the funny situations Seth found himself in. This book brought a smile to my face many times

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Being this was in audio my only issue was the narrator. I could not get into the book completely because the narrator's voice would throw me off. It could be just me, but my only issue.

I do not know if the narrator could have done better if that is the intended voice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The book made me laugh multiple times!

Any additional comments?

In summary, if anyone is looking for an m/m without negativity, without instant lovers, but two people who are friends and stood the test of time. This is the book I would recommend.
