Publisher's summary

Graham "Hollywood" Caverly feels the chemistry with Kassie Anderson in the emails they've been exchanging through a dating site. When they finally meet in person, and that online chemistry proves to have real-life sizzle, he knows she's the one. He couldn't be happier when their first date, at an annual Army Ball, goes better than he could have imagined. Until Kassie drops a bomb.

Kassie doesn't want to approach Hollywood on the dating site, but threats to her family leave her no other choice. She definitely doesn't want to fall for the man. But fall she does. Hard. After she admits the ruse - and after some understandable anger on both their parts - Kassie wonders if, in Hollywood's arms, a happy future is within her grasp.

But her past always finds her, and in Kassie's case, that's a dangerous proposition - because she's connected to an old enemy of Hollywood's Delta Force team. Very intimately connected...and it will take Hollywood, his Delta brothers, and even some outside help to do what should have been done the first time - eliminate the threat once and for all.

Rescuing Kassie is the fifth book in the Delta Force Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

Another Winner!!

Susan has another winner on her hands!

I like Hollywood, always have. He's a big beautiful man with a heart of gold. We got to see that in Rescuing Emily, when he was faced with little Annie.

I wasn't so sure about Kassie at first but thankfully she showed she was on in this because she had to be. She didn't want to cause Hollywood or his friends any harm. Her ex however was wanting just that. The way the story is told and unfolds Kees you on the edge of your seat. What's going to happen next?

There were many WTF moments for me, which was good. I laughed, and a time or two I was a little ticked at the situations Kassie put herself in, al in the name of protecting someone else. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do I guess.

I really can't wait to see more of Kass and Hollywood in the future books!

Ugh

I HATE characters that play the victim when they were the ones in the wrong. Kassie was absolutely wrong. Hollywood's response was pretty natural but she acts like she has a right to be a bitch and he grovels. Seems to be a common theme.

Always a good read.

The narrator can make or break a book. I love this narrator! Susan Stoker is the best author for this type of genre. I am reading her books in order so I don’t miss one!

Another great series

Susan Stoker has done it again. I’ve read Ace Security, Mountain Mercenaries, Silverstone, Badge of Honor, and now working through Delta Force Heroes. Never get tired of brave, honorable men falling hard for strong willed, compassionate women with enough edgy suspense to keep every story fresh. SS series are intermingled with minor crossovers, just to give you little peaks at fan favorites down the road. if you find a larger cast of characters and multiple players distracting and too much, these series might not be your cup of tea.
Kassie is being bullied and harassed by her ex, from prison. She’s understandably skittish about men, her ex pushes her to “date” Hollywood via online dating to get information on him and his team. But Kassie & Hollywood are drawn to each other and that’s where we start. A few hiccups and a little honesty are all it takes to set this attraction on fire. As they get to know each, an old adversary can’t except losing, but the guys of Delta stand together and live up to their reputations yet again.

😮Dull as dish water!🚰

🔮Just the pros & cons - you decide!

🔹I really wanted to LOVE this one but I found it boring.

💌 I Loved the female lead - "Kassie"! Shes smart, independent, loving and an overall nice person! I was rooting for her!!

⁉️Graham aka: Hollywood, seemed a bit conceded mostly likely because he's special forces. (as he described himself in the very beginning of this book - he could forget about a woman "just like that"!) Not givin me the warm n fuzzies!

❤️I really "FELT" for Kassie since she was being targeted, harassed and basically STALKED by her X - Jacks n his friends! I had been stalked once many years ago- so I could "relate" to Kassie! My heart went out to her as she strove to make the best decisions for herself and sister Korina (who was also targeted)

🔒I "thought" Hollywood was misunderstood and perhaps a sweetheart in chapter one - which was quickly debunked when he got into a verbal argument with Kas at the Ball and basically told her off in public! (Enraged and out of line for a "cool headed" Delta officer - uhhh! Come on Hollywood! ) I was completely turned off by his boldness, crudeness and unchivalrous qualities!

💢I was shocked when Kassie allowed Hollywood into her apartment to chat after the big fight. Honestly gals - if some random guy "told you OFF" in public and didn't allow you to get a word in....would you simply allow him into your home? I WOULDN'T! YIKES! She should have blown him off, by getting back into her car and leaving instead of allowing him to take CHARGE and call her "sweetheart" - CRINGY and ....NO bueno! ! The author could have brought them back together by having them bump into each other at the store or any public place a few weeks later. (Maybe I should be writing Romance Novels!)

🔆I was hoping this book would revive itself and snowball into a thrilling adventure! But it didn't - it just dragged. SIGN! The majority of this book was "cheezy dialogue" from Hollywood. No grand adventure...heavy sigh!

🔰Hollywood was overbearing and pushy - especially since he had just met Kassie and only dating for about 2 weeks! If some guy "latched on" that quickly- I'd say that would send up a few RED FLAGS! LOL! He even told her when to eat....seriously cringy!
He kept saying - "Im sooo mature, Im 32 years old!" LOL! Yea thats worldly bro!

📳 The book crept into "Tedious" when they had a video chat with her teen sister (sigh!) ...and dinner with her parents (double sigh!) I did NOT like the way Susan wrote Kassie so weak that Kassie had to "break down" and cry constantly! An Extra Unbearable part was when... ADHD child Annie - repeated Fletch's words at a BBQ, telling the group how Fletch wanted to plant his "seed" in Emily and would get off on seeing her big round belly with his baby growing inside her....WTF? This may have been ok if it was between Fletch and Em IN PRIVATE... but NOT when involving a child! COME ON - somebody back me up on this one! ENOUGH!

💔Another UNBEARABLE part is during the video chat with her sister. Hollywood announces to Korina (even though they have never met) ...he plans on proposing and getting Kass pregnant with his babies in a few months! Not only TMI but OUTLANDISH since they had only been dating for 2 weeks. Kass kept saying she wanted to take things slow and get to know him better before committing. TALK ABOUT OVER STEPPING his BOUNDS!

⚡️Why on Gods green Earth did Susan write the ADHD kid "Annie" into this book? I though we got rid of her in Rescuing Emily!!! UHHH! Annie strolls over to Kassies door at 7am!!! Oh, because her irresponsible mother Emily wanted to have sex with Fletch ....to try and "get pregnant"! UHH and Awful!! Who sends their kid outside, ALONE at that age...especially when someone had just kidnapped them prior! They can't handle ONE kid but are trying to have a BRUDE! Preposterous! 🍆💥

⚠️I found Hollywood to be an uninspiring character!

🈲 Why does Susan write ALL of her female characters as - "Breeders"? Women that have no life interests or passions other than -"taking care of a husband and harvesting kids".

☢️The Delta force men are certainly NOT giving up their careers to be "stay at home Dads"! Nor are they giving up being in DELTA to work a basic office job in town.

🌍I would find Susan's books MORE sexy and alluring if she wrote her "female characters" more exciting roles, careers, hobbies etc.
Susan's female characters are mostly 28 to 32 yrs and are giving up their youth and lives ...for a guy??? This is NOT a turn on for me but rather..."turn the page"!

🚀 EMPOWER YOUR FEMALE CHARACTERS PLEASE!!! I wish Susan wrote her female characters to be more exciting, perhaps ......a secret agent for the CIA - Nikita type, a "Sniper" in the military! How about an ER Doctor, Helicopter pilot, Paramedic, SWAT team member, Aerospace engineer, Forensic science tec, or Professional athlete.
🌋Strange none of Susan's female characters exercise... (but Delta men work out daily for hours!) You cant tell me that a women who has NO muscle tone and eventually will be flabby from never working out is a TURN ON to a Special Forces man with high physical and mental standards?&% HUHHH??

🎯Most of Susan's Delta men are extremely insecure - because they only select women who are easily controlled and 100% subservient! Come on Susan - lets switch this up and Empower women! PLEASE!

💚 Again, I really wanted to like this book but found most of it simply boring. The only bit of intrigue was near the end and I found it vulgar and completely out of character. Although I'm very happy the book had a sweet ending....What about Kassies desire to take things slow, move to a new place and fulfill her dream of traveling?? Just sayin. Guess she gave up her dreams to make someone else happy.

💜 KUDOS to Stella for narrating all parts- you are AMAZING!

❤️ Ya havent lost me Susan - The search is on for the next gem! Namaste Stoker fans!
