Loved it.

I really liked the narrator in this book. I thought she bought out the main character. I didn't just get told what she was like but I also felt it. She really bought out the personality of the characters.
The book itself is heavy on the romance and the mystery isn't too bad, I have read a lot worse. There were moments that made me smile, which I really like in a cozy mystery.
Another reviewer mentioned sex in this book well I listened to it and the sex scene happens behind closed doors. Yes sex is discussed but it does not go into detail, so if you want a cozy mystery with plenty of romance and no sex then this is for you.
I really enjoyed listening to it and I would highly recommend it.
It can be read as a stand alone.

Love the Quirkiness

I really enjoyed this book! It is full of humor and wit. Ellen reminds me of my grandma, so full humor, sex appeal, and doesn't care what anyone things about her. Liam is the gentleman, that everyone wants....someone who is willing to fight for his girl. Simone, is so funny with the monologue that goes on in her head, especially with how she describes how much she wants Liam. I am looking forward to more books in this series.

Fun simple Mystery

This is a fairly simple entertaining read with a great backdrop in a beautiful setting.While I believe younger listeners will enjoy
this book more I suspect anyone who wants a light Summer read will enjoy this book.

Romance and Mystery in one

Romance and Mystery are my two favorite genres, and Mary Jo Burke did a great job weaving the two together. The story is a standalone listen and part of a series. This is my first book by the author and I really enjoyed it. I loved the imagery, the twists, and how it ended. Susan Marlowe did a great job building the tension, displaying realistic emotions, and having distinguished voices for the various characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I would definitely listen to more books by both author and narrator.

fantastic story

Simone Ryan is stood up at the alter. She decides to go on her what would have been her honey moon to Hawaii. This is when all the trouble begins. Her ex shows up with her boss step daughter. The ex gets killed and the step daughter disappears. This is when all the craziness begins. She is first looked at for the murder, the step daughter is found and her boss comes t Hawaii and blames her. She quits her job in Washington before she can get fired. Then then the more they dig more lies and cover ups are found. In the middle of all this she meets Liam and his grandmother. Liam and Simone worked together with the police to find out who murdered her ex fiance.
The narrator did a fantastic job. I was gifted this book at my request in exchange for an honest review.

This book was okay it just really was not my style. A little to much romance/sex and not enough mystery for my taste. I had not read or listened to any other books in this series or by this author. The book was fine as a stand alone I had not problem with that. Susan Marlowe does a very nice job of narrating this book. If you like romance/sex mysteries I am sure you will enjoy this book.

Left At City Hall

Simone Ryan decides to fly to Kauai for her “honeymoon” after being stood up. Then Elliot shows up with the underage daughter of Simone’s boss a Congresswoman. When she confronts them and the police show up it’s a real nightmare. Then Elliot drowns and she the leading suspect. New friends Liam and grandmother that her under their care. A laugh out loud series in Paradise. Great narration.

Beach read

Like intrigue? Steamy scenes with little actually revealed? This is a solid beach-read.

Enjoyable light reading type book. Some intense parts and a few solid twists packed into a “never in a million years” type romance.

Not for under 18 due to suggestion. Language would be ranked as moderate.

The narrator has pretty good character differentiation and fits the characters well!
