It was light and short

It's about feelings, mistakes and miscommunication.
The two MC's have been best friends for as long as they could remember, but ten years ago they kissed and that couldn't and shouldn't be.
Neither of them expected it and out of sheer panic they parted ways for the next 10 years.
Today it's about a wedding where neither of the two can avoid each other and therefore have to face the feelings from ten years ago.
Feelings that are undeniable!
The narration wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad!

Wholesome All the Way

This was a short and just heartwarming story. Finding myself in a small town following a girl who's discovering her sexuality and being heartbroken in the same day, but eventually finding a way to be happy. It's quick and the writing is made with flashbacks while the main character is in a wedding. So as the situations occur we are enlightened to why she feels the way she does by looking at what happened before.
It's very wholesome and "aawwwww" inducing for sure!
The ending, while leaving spoilers out of this is not open ended, but a happily ever after kind.
The narrator was quite good, if a bit robotic at times, but nothing major, the pacing was very adequate and I'd say that the only thing I missed was some difference in voices from character to character, but that's personal preference.
In the end, a light, easy, heartwarming read!

Nice time out for recharge for WLW

I was given a code for this audio book by the author. It is will gratitude that I can share this review. I hope that it encourages others to take time to listen. This short story is just the correct length and generates a slow sensual burn that fits well into an hour of personal time mid day. The characters navigate a history that is believable and the setting for the story creates enough angst and introspection that I didn't want to pause the book at any point. For a short story I was all in from the opening words.Margaret Ashley does such an outstanding job of narrating the words that Lucy Felthouse weaves that I wish there was a bigger way to say thanks to both of them than with this review. I will read and listen to more of each of them.

Sweet

If you’re looking for stright-up smut, this isn’t the book for you.

Before I transitioned, most of my friends assumed I was gay. Some of them tried to make their move, but I shot them all down because I didn’t like men. I didn’t lose any friends over it. But that’s sadly not always the case, is it? This book is for those people. The ones who lost a cherished friend or lost years together because of a misunderstanding.

This story is short and sweet. It’s very light on the sex and focuses more on the romance and friendship aspects of the story. It bounces between 10 years past and present, which I always find confusing and annoying.

The narrator is excellent. She voiced The Sweetest Revenge, which I’ve also reviewed. There’s something about the way she says pussy that I always find amusing. I really can’t put my finger on why though.

Friendship and kisses

Can’t go wrong with a Lucy Felthouse story. This sweet tale about Eden and Janine and a friendship ended after a kiss.

When they were seventeen, Eden and Janine went to a club and, in an attempt to make a group of boys jealous, kiss. After the kiss, Janine ends her friendship wiTh Eden.

The story is told from Eden’s POV on the day of her sister’s wedding to Janine’s brother ten years post kiss. There are several flashbacks, first to the evening of the dreaded kiss and then to days following when she tried desperately to get Janine to speak to her up to her first college sexual experience. During the flashbacks, Eden comes to the realization that Janine might have avoided her right after the incident because she realized she too was a lesbian. Fortified by her new realization, Eden approaches Janine at the reception to discuss reconciling.

It is a quick easy read with believable and likable characters.
