About this listen

A pain so powerful can only be eased by a love even stronger. Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to the Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again. This is Aaron's story....

Single Dad of Seattle, Aaron Steele isn't a single dad at all. He's a retired Navy SEAL whose sister just died, leaving him to raise her newborn daughter all by himself. Only he has no clue how to be a dad - let alone a single dad. He's lost in a sea of diapers and bottles, late nights, and exhausting mornings, all the while dealing with a failure from his last mission he just can't shake. He needs help. He needs a nanny.

Professional nanny Isobel Jones has a heart of gold. She's always willing to help out, no matter the cause. She spends her days with children making memories and her nights on the laptop making magic as a graphic designer. After hearing Aaron's heartbreaking story, she jumps at the chance to help. But, she never expected her new boss to be a blue-eyed Adonis with dog tags, who quickly begins to fuel her fantasies.

While the beautiful nanny is off-limits, she's also a welcomed distraction. Aaron's grief is still raw, and he just knows he's going to mess up this whole dad thing. Isobel's never shied away from a challenge, and that's exactly what Aaron is - a big challenge. He's angry and stubborn, moody and confusing, and yet she knows deep down he's capable of so much love.

Will Isobel living with the single dad help pull him out of his misery, or will Aaron let the turmoil inside him chase away perhaps the only person that could help him finally find happiness?

Note: This audiobook can be listened to as a stand-alone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliff-hanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this audiobook is for you. The political views expressed in this audiobook do not necessarily reflect those of the author. This is fiction and the characters will have their own morals, ethics, political, and religious views in order to make them well-rounded and realistic.

One of the best in the series!

Aaron becomes a single "dad" for his sister's new baby when she was killed. While he was dealing with such terrible grief, he also has no idea how to take care of a baby.
Isobel steps in as the nanny to help him out and does her best to help get through to his heart. This is a great book and even though there was a lot of healing that Aaron had to go through, the book wasnt too angsty. I loved having the single Dads group in the story to help out Aaron and Isobel. The narration in this book was great and this was one of my favorites of the series.

I love this series!

This is the fourth book in the amazing The Single Dads of Seattle series. I love this series! Aaron and Isobel's story is emotional, sweet and heartwarming. Gregory Salinas and Eliza Roberts did a fantastic job with the narration. Gregory Salinas is one of my favorite narrators. He is perfect as Aaron. Eliza Roberts is a new narrator to me. She has a beautiful voice. I enjoyed it. I highly recommend this series! #PinkFlamingoProductions #AudiobookObsession #TheFlock

More Aaron and Isobel

Aaron is home again after suffering the worst loss yet in a life too full of tragedy. The former Navy Seal finds himself the sole parent of his newborn niece after his sister was killed in a senseless crime. He never planned to be a father, only the fun uncle, and he has no idea how to be a dad. His sister's best friend, a single dad himself makes arrangements for Isobel, a nanny to help out. Isobel's heart immediately goes out to Aaron and his niece and she quickly becomes invaluable. Her knowledge and heart turn Aaron's house into a home but Aaron's secrets and temper threaten everything.

I am new to this author and found myself enjoying her writing but I had issues with the story. It could have used less drama and more focus on the characters. More time with Isobel and Aaron. More time with Aaron and the other single dads. More people time, less spectacle. We didn't need rescues, Aaron was already a hero. Isobel is a sunshine-sweetheart but not a pushover. She is easy to love. Aaron was complicated, living with demons. Their chemistry was undeniable. However, Aaron was difficult to take. I understand PTSD. I work in a trauma center. The fact this dangerous man was receiving no therapy made me want Isobel to walk away. The wrong trigger and he explodes and she is caught in the crossfire. His lack of communication, his inability to bend, and his anger were all relationship red flags. Sex does not equal communication. It is a great part of a relationship, not the main element. Equally disturbing to me, when he finally opened up, he admitted to losing the woman he loved. And there was no further discussion. I'm sorry, Isobel is female. We need details. This book could have gone from okay to excellent with more relationship building.

Eliza Roberts did a nice job narrating Isobel. She captured her sweet disposition perfectly. I could see her happy smile with each delivered line. Gregory Salinas was a little too much for me. I realize he was going for a gruff, grumpy delivery but it was over the top at times. When he toned his delivery down, I found it much more believable.

Family You Choose

Title: Living with the Single Dad
Author: Whitely Cox
Format: Audio
Narrators: Gregory Salinas, Eliza Roberts
Genre: Romance, military (Navy SEAL), nanny, single dad
Standalone: yes
Part of a Series: Book 4 of The Single Dads of Seattle
POV: Aaron, Isobel
Steam Level: Slow burn to steamy
5/5

Living with the Single Dad is the fourth book in The Single Dads of Seattle series. While each book is a standalone the further along you read the more previous couples there are. Isobel's sister is the main character in the first book of the series so we see more of her and her HEA with Adam. There are also cameos from the ladies from books two and three which is fun. While a bit preachy about a certain topic, I still liked this book a lot. You can feel Aaron's pain and anger about losing his sister and other things that haunt him. He's hot and cold and Isobel is a saint who puts up with a lot but also isn't afraid to call Aaron out on his actions. I loved the rage room, meeting Isobel's parents (especially her dad) and the theme of family you choose. Parts are hard to read though - especially the beginning.

Emotional Single Dad Romance

Living with the Single Dad by Whitley Cox is the fourth book in The Single Dads of Seattle Series. It can be read standalone but there are many interconnecting characters and I appreciated the story more knowing their back stories.

This story was a much heavier emotionally than the previous books in this series. The pain, loss and grief Aaron is suffering after the loss of his sister was so very heartbreaking. With no other family in the picture Aaron is now the guardian to her newborn baby, Sophie. Aaron is barely keeping his head above water, drowning in his grief but knows he needs some help with Sophie and hires Isobel as her nanny.

I really loved the messages portrayed in this story. Isobel is the glue in this storyline. She has a huge heart and although Aaron didn’t deserve it at times with how often he tried to push her away she never once gave up on him. They have fantastic chemistry, the steam level between them was undeniable but for majority of the story he wouldn’t open up his heart and resisted the thought of committing to more with her. On top of his grief Aaron is struggling with the events that took place during his time in the military. He witnessed something horrific and feels utterly broken. Isobel recognizes that he is unable to see his worth and she doesn't give up. I loved her strength.

Gregory Salinas portraying Aaron was absolutely fantastic. His emotional delivery was gruff and raw, and gave me in all the feels. Eliza Roberts is a new to me narrator. It took a bit to warm up to her voice but in the end I enjoyed her portrayal of Isobel. Her voice is animated and engaging.

great series

Aaron's only sister passed away, leaving him as the guardian of her newborn baby girl, Sofie. He was lost, devastated, broken. He didn't know how to take care of a baby.
He hired a nanny, Isobel. She is young, beautiful, sweet, confident and has the experience . They try to keep it professional, but that becomes a challenge for both of them. Their attraction to each other is hot, and steamy.
I'm loving this series by Whitley Cox, The Single Dads of Seattle. It's about a group of Single dads, who support each other. They are broken, raising their children by themselves.
They are not looking for a relationship, but fate always intervenes.
Each story can be read as a standalone. The characters are interconnected within the series,

Gregory Salinas and ElIza Roberts Narration is very good. I enjoyed listening to this story.

My favorite in this series so far

I just found Whitley Cox with the series. I love her writing style. She writes great storylines and wonderful characters. I cried and laughed throughout this book. Oh how my heartstrings were pulled. I love single dad, nanny romances. They warm my heart. This is perfect as a standalone, but it adds to know the history of the other characters. I didn't want to pause because I wanted to get to their HEA so much. Loved this book.

Eliza Roberts and Gregory Salinas are excellent narrators. They brought this book to life with such emotional performances. Eliza Roberts was a new to me narrator. I really hope to hear more from her!! Of course, Gregory Salinas is a favorite of mine! Their voices were perfect for the characters. They make this easy to listen to for long periods of time.

4 Stars

I will say I enjoyed this story, and given the times we are living in the backstory was handled very well. Seeing the anger that Aaron has over the death of his sister is completely understandable. And yet he is so gentle with his niece. But he has an attitude towards Iz. She's the nanny. He should not be attracted to her. It's almost like he's bipolar when it comes to her. He goes from making love to her and loving her to criticizing and hypercritical and mean. Will he get his head on straight and figure out he can't keep treating her like a punching bag before it's too late? Because if not, his niece will be the one to suffer.

Gregory Salinas is a favorite narrator of mine and he does this story well. Eliza Roberts was a new narrator for me. I did not care for her in this book because I felt she played the character as very young and immature. I need to listen to another book she's narrated to get more of a feel for her.

Book 4 - Single Dads of Seattle

This is book 4 in Cox's The Single Dads of Seattle series and this series just gets better and better! This is Aaron and Isobel's story. Well written, beautifully tragic storyline that is heart wrenching and heart warming all at the same time. Wonderfully narrated - although the female narration came thru at a louder volume than the male so I was constantly adjusting my volume setting (I think this is more a production issue than a narration issue) I thought the voices did the characters justice and were very well done. Alpha, protector as well as a strong female MC make for a great mix with steamy chemistry and a few giggles along the way. Can't wait for more from Cox and this series!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.
