Publisher's summary

Such a quiet and ordinary wife and mother. Who will even notice what she’s done?

Lillian Smith leads an unexceptional life, writing obituaries and killing time with her inattentive husband and disconnected son. Then she meets David, a handsome stranger, in a coffee shop. Lured into an affair, she invents a new persona, one without strings, deadlines, or brooding husbands.

Lillian has never felt so reckless, unpredictable, or wanted. But as her affair with David intensifies, she withdraws from everything that’s real, even her closest friend. When evidence of her life as a secret lover finds its way onto her son’s social media, she risks ruining much more than her marriage or reputation.

As lies beget lies, Lillian’s two worlds spiral dangerously out of control. And betrayals run deeper than she imagines. Because Lillian isn’t the only one leading a double life.

Wow. Wow. Wow!!!

Wowzers. This book is really good. It will keep you on your toes, because it kept me on my toes. OhMgee because I don’t want to spoil it. Let me just say the affair Mike had, I was not expecting who he had it with. And the way it ended it has me wondering are we getting another book or a novella?! Awesome story a must read or listen. I was able to do both because of Kindle Unlimited!!

interesting

Even though this book has a beach on the cover it isn't a summer read and I am glad I read it! So many twists and turns, there's a very small chance you will be able to actually guess the ending!!!!!

No truer words "a familiar stranger"

Very enjoyable read, many twist, and an unexpected end. I purchased both the Kindle and audible so I can switch back and forth as well as listen while I read.. Excellent narration. I reccomend this book.

A great book...

Lillian writes obituaries for the local newspaper. She is married to Mike and has a son named Jacob. Her best friend Sam gets along well with her husband. But she finds out her husband is having an affair. She then starts one herself. She also loses her job. She soon starts running errands at a nearby marina. Someone posts her affair online and tags her son in the video. Now Mike wants to handle the situation with a lawyer. Until Lillian is killed. But by who?

Almost gave up…

I almost gave up on this book. The main characters were drab and frankly, boring. But then I became interested in the twists and turns the story took. After that, I was hooked. Slow start, keep going!

I loved it.

I thought it was a good twist of events. Was not dragged out and kept moving enough to keep my attention to the end. Worth the read.

Surprise!

This story was so unexpected. Nothing was as it seemed. Enjoyed so much and needed this compelling mystery.

Very good story

Overall, I really enjoyed this story and kept me interested enough to look forward to picking up when I had to leave off. I’m still confused about David Lau’rant and perplexed by Mike’s narration. Was Mike only pretending to be British, perhaps? I’m going to go with that! But, I’m still left curious about David. Oh, and the woman on the beach. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I loved the mystery of the book. The narration was great and I couldn't put it down until I finished the last page! A Familiar Stranger is a page turner and I had to listen until the very end. Great characters and a lot of mystery. Highly recommend!! l
