The How To guide I've been waiting for

Loved BTR when I first read it 14 years ago. BTR2 is the step by step (heh) guide I've wanted ever since.

They hit it out of the cayon!

Must read for newbies and veteran runners. Great advice for injury free running and filled with interesting stories. I'm a 62 year old runner who after years of knee, shin, and glute running related issues, now enjoys injury free running thanks to Born to Run. Born to Run 2 adds more of the specific skills and ideas needed to maintain injury free running. I will provide an update in 1 year after my 1st ultra, which is a mountain trail desert ultra. its not the ultra, but the full year of training that has always worried me. Born to Run 1&2 give me confidence that I can stay injury free and make it to the start line well prepared.

The physical book far exceeds the Audible.

The audible version is ok for the story parts but much of the book is full of pictures, recipes and exercises which does not translate to audio very well. The narration is fine but I found myself quite bored with the author reading recipes and exercises.
I ended up buying the print version which is much better suited for this type of book. I would NOT recommend the audible version.

It’s not the first book, so change your expectations.

Born to Run is one of my favorite all time books, and I also loved Running with Sherman. Once it became clear that this wasn’t a sequel, I really embraced all that this book had to offer. It was great catching up with the people from BTR 1, learning great techniques and remedies, and hearing more details of Caballo’s running. There is clearly a lot that went into this book, and thank you for creating it.

amazing book. terrible narrator.

The book is absolutely amazing and well written. unfortunately, the poor choice of narrator made it extremely painful to listen to. He sounds like he has a learning disability or some sort of weird accent or lisp, and it makes some of the words hard to understand. The sentences sound like they were read by someone with marbles in their mouth. Otherwise, the book is so well written that I withstood the pain of the narrator's pronunciation to hear what the author wrote.

Great followed up

I guess if you’re not a snowflake carnivore diet person, you’ll really enjoy this book. If 1-2 vegan recipes is scary for you, I would stay away. In all seriousness though, great book with fun stories and adventures with practical guides to re-naturalizing your running and lifestyle. I’ve been running trail and ultra for a few years now and have dealt with I think typical injury cycles, so I always try to come back to the idea of my body was built to run, I just have to let it. Movement snacks, barefoot days, high cadence are all so helpful! As long as you are having fun and not getting hurt, you are doing it right

Worth it!

I was / am in love with BYR 1. Still! This book with the same title helps put into practice all the crazy shit in the first book. The book is a mix of story from the the first book and some real good applications for the runner who wants to run free. I really liked it. Get past the recipes and enjoy the read !
