Publisher's summary

The classic heartwarming tale from Kate DiCamillo - now with an afterword from the beloved author, reflecting on 20 years in print

One summer's day, 10-year-old India Opal Buloni goes down to the local supermarket for some groceries - and comes home with a dog. But Winn-Dixie is no ordinary dog. It's because of Winn-Dixie that Opal begins to make friends. And it's because of Winn-Dixie that she finally dares to ask her father about her mother, who left when Opal was three. In fact, as Opal admits, just about everything that happens that summer is because of Winn-Dixie.

This updated edition of Kate DiCamillo's classic novel invites listeners to make themselves at home - whether they're experiencing the book for the first time or returning to an old favorite.

Delight for the Heart

I’ve loved this book since the beginning and just now had the opportunity to listen to it with my 7-year-old daughter. It provides laughs and thoughtful questions and I love it’s tender storyline. Thank you!

Loved Windixie

This is an overall great book for anyone. My children read this for their third grade class and I felt it was a great book for their personal library. I bought the kindle version as well as this Audible version.

Great BUT….

I really enjoyed it but the author at the end saying she had to change the book that India read to Gloria. People need to stop being so sensitive…

Jemma Lamia

really leans into the accent and performance of the story’s child protagonist. It could be irritating but she pulls it off.
