Publisher's summary

My Hellicorn keeps pestering me to take a trip to the beach with him, my pet demons want a family fun day out, and my demon partner wants to start a war with the local Yakuza clan....

And that’s just before breakfast.

As the FPD’s only occult investigator, I deal with a lot more than your average cop, and often that means babysitting a bunch of volatile demons...when I’m not working cases that is.

Speaking of which, a pregnant girl has walked into the precinct claiming she has a monster in her belly, put there by a demon-worshiping cult. As my partner and I investigate the cult and its motives, we soon learn the gruesome truth is tied up with the ghosts of my past, revealing a larger conspiracy at play....

Renowned assassin Scarlet Hood has also roped me into finding her missing sister. I was meant to deliver Scarlet’s head on a silver platter to Cuban gangster Carlito Martinez. But Carlito now wants my head on a platter instead...and he isn’t going to stop until he gets it.

Screw it.

I might just take that trip to the beach after all....

Harry Bosch meets John Constantine in this gripping urban fantasy noir thriller.

What a ride

Ethan is our dark hero, you can’t help but want him to succeed. He has help in the form of a ‘magnificent’ stead, a few little friends who enjoy cartoons and wearing unusual hats and a thirst for mayhem. There is some good snark, loads of action, epic gore and endless sticky situations. Use that credit

AWESOME.

Most enjoyable. This is one of the best series I’ve listened too. The author, N P Martin is new to me but I’m glad I tried this series, Ethan Drake series. Very well written with lots of action and most interesting characters. The story flow smoothly right to the end. Voice actor, Brian Wiggins performed excellently and brought the characters to life. I stayed up late until dawn the next day to complete the book. So far there are only three books in the series and I’m waiting anxiously for Audible to publish the fourth book ASAP.

Excellent

The action never stops, and Ethan Drake keeps getting his ass kicked with little sleep. But he is our hero. The action starts the story and continues until the end. There is graphic violence, explicit sex scenes, coarse humor, and language.

While working on two lines of inquire Ethan is still trying to find out who killed his family. Hannah Walker, Ethan’s demon partner, has secrets which rock the story. I love Haedemus and the Hellbastards (H&H) and they are given ample opportunity to do their wild and crazy things. Ethan is the cop who deals in the weird cases with H&H, and his demon partner as his only backups.

Ethan tries to repay a debt to a criminal organization, avoid killing someone, keep a promise to find a missing kid, and save pregnant women.

This is a story that you do not want to miss.

Grossed me out..

At the end of this book the author referred to it as a "dark fantasy." It was NOT dark. It was disgusting. Between Haedemus and the Hellbastards always eating humans or talking constantly about their penis's it was ridiculously gross.

Also, I was really disappointed in Ethan Drake taking something called MUD in the first book but I thought I'd give it one more try BUT not only did he continue with the MUDD he was doing cocaine with Artemis and Pan Demic, who, I'm surprised, weren't dead already with all the cocaine they used.

So, with all the disgusting characters and the gross way they killed people, I've had enough of this series. Sorry.

Yeah, there was sex and the F-bomb was used 366 times in 306 pages.

As for the narration: The best thing about this book was Brian Wiggins.
