Publisher's summary

Maddox–Mad Dog–White hates everything the name Vitiello stands for, after he witnessed his father and his men getting butchered by the Capo of the Italian mob in their territory. Raised by his uncle, the president of the Tartarus MC, Maddox is destined to follow in his footsteps. Now their chapter is on the rise again, but for their ultimate triumph they need to destroy the Vitiello empire. And what better way to do it than to steal the spoilt Vitiello princess and break her piece by piece until her father begs for mercy.

Known as the spoilt princess of New York, Marcella Vitiello grew up in a golden cage. If your father is the most feared man in New York, people gift you with reverence.

Destined to marry the boyfriend approved by her father, Marcella is sick of being treated like an untouchable porcelain doll.

She resents the life forced upon her by her family until everything she took for granted is ripped from her. Where she’s now, her name doesn’t bring awe, only pain and humiliation.

If you’ve grown up in a high castle, the fall is all the deeper.

Sins of the fathers have a way of catching up, who’s going to bleed for them?

Love this story

It leaves you on a cliff hanger but it’s a REALLY good story. I was not disappointed!

Decent biker romance-not dark

The story line and characters are pretty good, (even though it does end with an extremely annoying cliffhanger🖕🏻🤯🖕🏻!!) narration is very well done. There is some violence and mention of guns, drugs, crime etc etc . The kind of things you would expect around outlaw MCs or mafia. But I def did not think this qualifies as dark romance. Besides the fact a mafia girl gets kidnapped by an MC guy there isn’t much to recommend this book as dark romance. Also, the sex, while decent, isn’t anything out of the ordinary.
Worth a credit? Hmmm ya.. I enjoyed it enough to say worth a credit… if you had an extra credit and don’t have your heart set on anything dark and kinky. That cliffhanger really sucks tho. Absolutely not worth using your only credit for the month to get all invested then SHUT down right at the end.!

Someone needs to make a movie/series

From the jump starting with the very first book I’ve followed this family. Through the Camorra chronicles and now the Vitiello children. Such great stories and I loved Growl too! Please someone not passionflix but a REAL series. It would beat outlander in my book!

Holy Cow - I wasn't ready for it! Soooo EXCELLENT

This was my first Cora Reilly book, and whoa! What a freaking story!

This is one of those rare gems that has it ALL: story, character development, depth, mind blowing ups & downs, suspense, moments where I sucked in a  breath and felt like biting a nail (I'm not a nail bitter)... I feel like I just netflix binged for 10 hrs and need to just stare at the wall for a bit to process everything 🔥

I love how Cora Reilly doesn't shy away or gloss over complexity and somehow still weaves in hope, love, and courage. I'm already looking forward to the next book and all her books!

THIS is excellent storytelling! All the 🌟stars🌟

Narration (audible)
This book wasn't originally on my radar because I tend to gravitate towards lighter stuff, but Wen Ross is one of my favorite male narrators (so talented!) so I  took a chance on this book.  This was no exception- his performance was AWESOME and introduced me to an amazing author! I feel like I hit the book lotto!

Kai's (MFC) narration was good, but I was super distracted by her rendition of a Texas accent (which was very prominent and frequent in the book). It was a great Deep South accent, but Texas accents (while diverse) are still fairly distinct, and hers was pretty far off base from any Texas accent which really took me out of the story.

Overall, enjoyed the performance.

THE THE BIKER & THE PRINCESSA.. OUTSTANDING

Having listen to (and loved) the Born In Blood Mafia Chronicles I knew I should wait until both books in this 2nd gen Duet were released.. the wait was hard. But then, oh the joyful, giddy gleeful anticipation, because book 2 was finally here.. and OMG both books were stuffed full and overflowing with all the delicious goodies I love. There’s suspense, intrigue, sexual chemistry, star-crossed lovers, danger, violence, tested family loyalties, enemies-lovers, sex and swoons in the doomed story of a badass Biker falling in love with a virgin Mafia Princessa.

Maddox and the Tartarus MC hate the Vitiello Mafia familia and the feeling is mutual. Many years ago, when five year old Maddox witnesses the brutal bloody massacre of his father and Club members by the enraged Don Luca Vitiello, Maddox swears to get revenge. So, present day, Marcella Vitiello is his pawn taken from her Father’s guilded cage and thrown into a filthy fighting dog’s cage to await her unknown future. Which will include abuse, degradation, humiliation, torture and shame.. but it will also lead to her rebirth too as she rises like a Phoenix from the ashes of her former life and kidnapping with strength, fortitude, dignity, determination.. and the selfless love of her biker. But, will Maddox give up his revenge, his friends, his family, his lifestyle and his Club for her? And, if he does, how will he survive the Vitiello anger, distrust and hate.. or is the cost going to be too great?

I really questioned how these two soul-mates could ever get to a reasonable ending never mind a happy ever after one.. but this talented author slowly worked her gifts and magic and built a bridge over the chasm between Maddox and Marcella’s violent worlds. She skilfully picked off enemies on both sides and placated others. She infused the action-packed chapters with angst, drama, violence, chills, tension, suspense and bloody betrayals. She gave strength, character growth and purpose to her hero and heroine and filled their hearts with love.. and yes, she delivered a blissful happy ending I thought I’d never see. Wen and Kai delivered five star performances as they brought the book, its cast of characters and wealth of feels to life which made it hard to pause or stop this exciting dual POV story.

Worth a credit? I have hours of downtime thanks to Covid.. but thankfully this dark Duet has been both my salve and my salvation when I needed it the most. And yes, both books are very very creditworthy.. and I’m looking forward to whatever comes next from Cora Reilly.

Oh My Gosh!!!! UGH!

It seems books are all the same these days. Sex Sex And more boring sex. Where's the story? Wheres the adventure and the excitment!?!?!? Sex scenes are fine and great when they are rare and few and far inbetween and interesting and different. The reason so many people liked 50 shades of Grey is because it was so different new taboo and interesting but even with 50 shades there was a good story behind it. It wasn't all only your boring run of the mill sex scenes. Like I said I like romance and sex scenes sure just NOT most of the damb book!!!! And so many books are all the same ole boring and predictable make you fall asleep stuff. It's all the same ole crap with way to much sex but with different charachters.
I need something better, something more!!!!!
I love a great book that makes me unable to fall asleep because I can't wait to see what happens next!
Romance is a must for me just not to much of it. I need the thrill and excitment on the edge of your seat type stuff from an amazing minded author that knows how to write and keep me engaged with lots of amazing interesting charachters that we hate to love and love to hate etc.
These days it's so hard to find all of this in a great book.
Make the romance fun and intriuging just not so much of it and where's the chase?!? Writers these days go from their charachters getting kidnapped to 4 play to screwing right away. It makes me want to bang my head againt the wall.
Anyway, that's what this book is to me just another boring run of the mill sex books with nothing special. Harsh but true.
