Publisher's summary

A Scientific Detective Story

In Confrontations, the second volume of his Alien Contact Trilogy, Dr. Jacques Vallee personally investigates 40 astonishing UFO cases from around the world. He finds it shocking that professional scientists have never seriously examined this material. This audiobook is about the hopes, experiences, and frustrations of a scientist who has gone into the field to investigate a bizarre, seductive, and often terrifying phenomenon reported by many witnesses as contact with an alien form of intelligence.

Excellent!

I absolutely love this series. Book one was excellent and so was this one. I have liked every one of the author's books and I'm so glad I came upon this trilogy as it is a very sober and grounded foundation for all interested in the subject. Until we get more information from those in the know, this is as good as it's going to get. Take away the speculation and keep an open mind to the unknowns. I feel so much better and more settled into the mystery.

The author thinks for himself

I like it. The author thinks for himself. This book is a critique of how we can know about anything, including UFOs.

The reader does a fantastic job.

Another great book from Jacques Vallee

Great book. Stories of injuries to humans and stories out of Brazil that you will want to hear. The reader is absolutely perfect for this genre and this author.

Interesting

Well researched and better towards the end when he talks about particular cases. Quite a lot of interesting knowledge and opinions and as I said, some fascinating cases

BRILLIANCE!

Jaques Vallee's BRILLIANCE! His way of seeing overarching themes. Connecting dots he's been able to draw from his extreemly vast interests & Education over his lifetime of gathering knowledge. And then putting it together so eloquently, in all 3 of these books as well as the Invisible College. I hope to read more of his books because he is SO unique in his way of seeing things others don't because they haven't gone to the location and got a personal FEEL for the story! J.V. is magnificent!!! (And by the way, YES!! This was written by a real person, not some damn AI, lol!!! sounds like it though don't it?? LOLOLOL!!!) I saw a UFO in 94 on my way to a rave with my DJ (Sound engineer he said cause he made techno music, didn't spin records) My freind 187 and a bunch of us in Pittsburgh on Observatory Hill saw a light In the distance that came to us as we talked about it and it was totally silent although it was right over us! A super bright light and as we remarked on how silent it was and it initially flew to us fast. It turned on a sound like a plane like a switch! and slowly flew away like it was a plane! But we couldn't see the body. just the bright light! never told anyone that story. I was 15-16 and I'm 47 now.

Not impressive evidence.

Kept waiting for revelations that never came. Mostly anecdotal witness accounts. Lacked substance but still interesting.
