Publisher's summary

Humans have been in the stars far longer than Van originally thought—and they've been busy.

Not every visitor to or from Earth has good intentions, and the Peacemakers are faced with an uncomfortable reality. The Earth is about to meet aliens. Some of the aliens are bringing goods to trade. And among those items are weapons.

When a secret cabal of humans who want to exploit the Earth is revealed, Van has to decide how and where to fight this threat. Along the way, he reveals a secret history that began in the Great War—and ends with mass chaos on his home planet.

Van won't let that happen—at least not without a fight, and to hold back the gears of war, he's going to need a lot of help. With Torina at his side, the crew faces a decision that will change the future of the stars themselves and challenge the Guild, the Earth, and the Equal Grasp as the universe gets smaller with each contact between humans and aliens.

How can Van manage the clash, save Earth, and deliver peace?

If he can, what will it cost him?

Justice finally catches up!

Nice to see the development from just a Peacemaker to now an Officer and leader of the troops. Both the joys and sorrows of your fellow Warriors. Well done! Would like to have found out more about how the Koniku honor their fallen Warriors and Hero's. Looking forward to more great tales of good and honorable peeps from every race and culture. Keep up the good work.

Excellent!

I feel like we've been waiting forever for the moments of this book. Multiple potential plotlines and running plot lines begin to merge together and events. We knew needed to happen or events that we foresaw happening, come to fruition. Great loss occurs evil is subdued. Can the crew of the Fafnir?
Prepare themselves, or are they prepared for the next big step that needs to come.

Great story

Backyard starship is an outstanding trilogy/space opera can’t get enough of this story. Can’t wait for the next one to come out. Great job with a storytelling and narration. J N Chaney is a sci-fi genius. If his names on the title I read it. I cannot get enough of the stories that he tells and I have yet to find one that I do not absolutely love thank you so much for all of your hard work and God bless.

The Best Yet

This is a spectacular series that is expertly narrated. I always find myself impatiently waiting for the next audiobook to come out.

While I have enjoyed all 14 previous books, this one was not only the best, but it also left me feeling like I had somehow gotten to know the key characters personally and certainly in a way I hadn’t before.

The combination of writing and narration opened doors into the hearts and minds of Van and those closest to him. This book took me from an outsider looking in to an insider looking both in and out, almost like I was part of the crew.

Now I can’t wait for book 16.
