Investigator Buck Arnold has just solved a high-profile murder in his quaint Georgia town and needs some relaxation. His client, Michelle, offers him her cruise tickets, as a thank-you for catching the killer. He promptly takes her up on the offer and with the extra pass invites Penelope, a witness from the case who reminds him of his departed wife Bernice. Penelope is initially hesitant but soon succumbs to the allure of a vacation on the high seas, while island hopping in the Caribbean. The two, escaping from the stresses of life, soon find that the rest they sought will have to wait when Buck wakes up next to a dead body. The discovery takes them on a wild ride to exonerate him and catch the real murderer who has been killing women to avenge demons from the past.
