Dana's Valley

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I would have loved to have gotten the unabridged version but this one still got the story told very well. The more Janette Oke I read I more I want to read. I get a little perturbed at some of the characters occasionally... but they always come around by the end of the book.
This one was a real treat jerker so have you tissues handy. Beautiful story! 👍👍

Oh my…

I appreciate the point of view from the younger sister. We lost a son 15 years ago from injuries sustained in an auto accident. My daughters were younger and dealt with so much during their teenage years. I know it was hard on them. Most people ask how the parents are but fail to think about siblings.

My Late Childhood Favorite

I was so astonished to discover this book in audible. I couldn't wait to listen. This is truly where my mind made the decision to join my hearts love for God. When I understood the blessing of childlike faith. Now things have come full circle with the ability to hear this story now. Janette Oak I am for one truly blessed by your faith and ability to illustrate how trials that seem impossible and events that seem useless only causing pain, are actually God's love.

Tear Jerker!!

Be sure to have some tissues handy because get ready to cry. A short sweet book. Definitely gives you perspective from a siblings point of view when it comes to terminal illnesses; a perspective many authors don’t really touch base on.

I love Janette Oke books, I grew up reading Love Comes Softly and the seasons of the heart series. Love the heart she puts into each piece and her love for the Lord shines through the pages and is evident that she loves hers readers enough to share God’s love with them. Reading her books have truly changed my mind about Christian fiction. They are not the typical “christian” books that we so often see, today. Just because you say God or Jesus’ name doesn’t really mean that your book has real meat and meaning. When one adds all the fluff and sexuality in their books makes one question how it got on the Christian Fiction train in the first place?

Reading Mrs. Oke’s books and her daughter collaborations are just so refreshing and beautiful in every particular. I am currently trying to read all of JO’s books and slowly getting there. 😍
