Publisher's summary

Best friends. Unrequited love. A story that spans decades.

Wyatt

At 12, he was my best friend. At 16, he became my crush. And now, at 34, he’s the man I’m still pining after.

Falling in love with Easton was never part of the plan. But now that I’ve done it, I can’t seem to stop. It doesn’t help that we’re living under the same roof. Or that Easton is so dang sweet I want to lick him from head to toe.

But Easton is straight, and all the cattle in Texas won’t change the fact that he’ll never look at me the way I see him. I want someone who can love me back. And I won’t be able to find that while I’m hung up on my best friend.

It’s time to find a way to say good-bye.

Easton

I always knew I was a little bit different than everybody else. When kids my age were hooking up, all I wanted to do was sit on the ranch with Wyatt and plot out our future. I didn’t need anyone else.

When Wyatt leaves Plum Valley, he takes a piece of me with him. When he returns at the moment I need him most, he helps me to heal and feel whole again. We have a good life now, Wyatt and I, best friends still after all these years.

So when I happen to catch my friend down on his knees in the barn, I don’t understand why, all of a sudden, I’m thinking things I shouldn’t be. Now, I can’t stop wondering and wanting.

But would taking that chance with Wyatt risk the best thing in my life?

Fool Hearts is a small-town longtime-friends-to-lovers romance with a whole lot of pining, a bi-awakening in a barn, swoon-worthy cowboys, a roller coaster of emotions, and one very HEA. It’s book one in the Plum Valley Cowboys series but can be listened to as a stand-alone.

perfection

I listened to the audio book for Fool Hearts and it was FANTASTIC.🤍 this book tugged at my heartstrings. Easton and Wyatt grew up together. They were best friends since childhood. However, Wyatt had more than just feelings of friendship toward Easton. He went YEARS loving Easton from afar.

After being away for years, circumstances bring Wyatt back to Plum Valley. So much has happened between each of them and Easton feelings may not be quite as platonic as Wyatt once thought…

I loved everything about this Fool Hearts. I fell so in love with Wyatt and Easton. Their love is so pure and is built on such a strong friendship. Ugh I was swooning the whole time. If you love MM romance, friends to lovers, and mutual pining, READ THIS BOOK. 🥰

Great start to a series

New to me author ✔️
New to me narrator ✔️
Tropes I’m not very into:
Cowboys ✔️
Slow burn ✔️
Angst ✔️ (I did cry at several parts)
Spanning years ✔️

So, this book had several things I don’t normally look for in a book, but I am so glad I gave it a try. It was fantastic and brought to life so well by Blake Lockheart. It also got me interested in the series, so I’ll definitely be visiting Plum Valley again. Wyatt and Easton were great and I loved the friends to lovers story. Although there was a lot mental yelling at Easton to figure it out, the story does take place over decades. I also really loved that the author gives us time to really get to enjoy their hard fought HEA. Also, I might be in the minority, but I’d be interested in seeing Harrison return for his own HEA.

love the start to this series

I absolutely love this book. I read it a few months ago, and now bought it as an audiobook because I loved it so much.
slow burn, unrequited love, bi-awakening, all the tropes.
this book made me cry at least twice.
and im so looking forward to all the books being made into audiobooks.
it was well-read and the accents were great.
(Spoilers from here forward)
I love parts about being able to love more than one person in your life with your whole heart.
I love how much they thought about the woman who died to give them their son, and how much she had already thought about them and given her whole hearted permission to be together once she was gone.
the thing I love most about this book, is that even after they get to their happy togetherness, it keeps going. some books just stop and say 'they're committed now, its over, on to the next couple.' but this one gave us their happiness and more.

Great story, Excellent narration.

The storyline was very relatable and heartfelt. The narrators voice helped tell the story very well. I was actually moved to tears. I didn't want the story to end, I immediately looked to see if there was another book in the series. Will start it later today. no books read in-between.

Epic Love Story!

Loved this! A friendship that spans decades, a love that took time to be realized. An epic romance. I thoroughly enjoyed Wyatt and Easton's journey. All the ups and downs and the things life threw in their path, but they were always there for each other. Just such an enjoyable story. The narration by Blake Lockheart was fantastic!
