A book you have to get your head around!

It is beyond amazing the intricate detail that went into the formation of a human”body” and this read certainly helps to reveal the reality of that detail and how to optimize our health.
A truly GREAT read!

Not enough recommendations for vegetarians

A lot of good advice, but not enough for vegetarian. Especially protein. Should have additional info.

The most comprehensive book on the matter

If you ate looking for a book that ties together the effects of food on the various body systems in a sophisticated yet easy to understand manner this is it! Although the main focus of this book is on how to optimize your brain function through good nutrition, I love how the author was able to blend seamlessly research based information with practical advice. Max Lugavere did a fantastic job at extracting complex and difficult to understand concepts from research and presenting it in a way that's easy to understand yet not dumbbed down. He touches upon the effects of food on your mood, endocrine system, vascular system, and so much more! I have read other books on nutrition and on trying to improve diet but no other book has had the impact this book has made on me. I attribute this to the information being presented in a clear way backed by science. Max, the author, reads the book himself and does a superb job! I plan on reading this book one more round to internalize the information more, as it is dense on all the scientific concepts presented. I really would like for my mom to read the book. unfortunately, she's not proficient in English. The author should really consider translating this book into Spanish as this would reach a much larger sector of the population. The only constructive criticism I would like to give is that the author should have provided some strategies to hrlp people transition from an unhealthy diet to the one he proposes. He proposes a cold turkey approach to changing diet, but that's not always practical, especially when you have kids. Also, considering the delitirious effects of a diet high in sugar and processed foods I would like to be able to make the changes not just for me but for my entire family. It would be nice if the author would have included a part on making meals for kids and to include kids to make this transition more manageable. Max has a new book, The Genius Life, that's about to come out. I'm looking forward to reading it and learning more about how to improve our diets and our lives.

Excellent listen

I've been on a health journey for years and the information contained in this book fits right in with what I believe is the most up-and-coming medical research recognizing the gut-brain connection. One of the BEST things about this listen is that it's narrated by the author. It's just like listening to a podcast or video where the person actually cares about and believes in the content. I don't know why so many authors of health related books rely on commercial narrators but it's painful sometimes to listen to good content being butchered by a monotonous person reading words on a page. Thanks Max!

Everyone should read this book

An extremely comprehensive yet practical book that gives easy to implement health recommendations. This book has every good thing you can do for your health while still being brief but somehow still ties in a good amount of science. I love the passion behind this book. Additionally Max has an amazing voice for narrating.

Best health book ever!

This is my favorite health/diet book ever and that's saying a lot as I have read them all from Hyman to Perlmutter to Pollan and so many more!!!! Some I didn't like but will not name those doctors. Pretty much read them all.
