I gave it a chance

Not overly fond of AI voice though a British accent seems to work better than American. There are words they just can’t get right because the context is extremely relevant to how the word is pronounced. Though, pronouncing Modiste as Modest every time the word was used (and it was used a lot) was just silly.

The story itself was drawn out and kind of disjointed for me. Too many villains and they were all too far over the top and came off kind of crazed. The Darcy and Elizabeth romance was non existent and Darcy seemed to fall for her while she was practically comatose after saving Georgianna and being hurt by Wickham. The Jane storyline was waaay too far fetched for me to believe. And as for the epilogue - OMG - I think it ended up three sets of twins and some singles??? UGH.

Excellent

I truly enjoyed this book. I listened nonstop until the satisfying end. I liked the fact that the author made sure all the bad actors were suitably punished for their actions. The friendship between Georgianna and Elizabeth was fun and I am glad that Elizabeth and Darcy liked each other from the beginning. I enjoyed the Matlock family and the Gardners. The Bennetts were disgusting but were not really heard from directly - Elizabeth left them at the very beginning of the book but the book revealed their actions. Jane was surprising. George Bingley was not the great guy he usually is. Wickham is disposed of early on when he stops a post carriage and attacks Georgianna and Elizabeth.

I have listened to many other Melanie Schertz books and I believe this is the best one so far. Well done Ms. Schertz! This book would have been even more outstanding if it had been read by someone like Stevie Zimmerman. The virtual voice was not horrible, but many many words were mispronounced and it was sometimes hard to discern which character was speaking since virtual voice does not change voices when the speaker changes. But that did not really turn me off too much because the book was so well written, and SO good. I am glad I chose Georgianna's Savior.
