Publisher's summary

What does it take for lasting change to take root in your life? If you've ever tried, failed, and wondered why, you need How People Change. This book explains the biblical pattern for spiritual change in a clear, practical way you can apply to the challenges of daily life as a Christian.

But change involves more than a biblical formula: You will see how God is at work to make you the person you were created to be. That powerful, loving, redemptive relationship is at the heart of all positive change you experience as a Christian on your path in life.

Every Believer Should read this book!!!

Heat, Thorns, Cross, Fruit… so simple, yet profound in its beauty of all our lives! We all have difficulties (heat) and all have bad reactions to those difficulties (thorns), we need to look at those difficulties through the lense of the cross not as guilt ridden sinners only, but as curiosity for how the LORD is trying to change us, what is He teaching me? How can I bring Him glory despite my agony? Is this really what He’s called me to? All these questions can be answered when looking at the areas of our life that bring the most pain. And ultimately when we look through the lense of the cross and see that God is not silent especially in those painful places He is sovereign and know just exactly what I need in order to actually submit my heart to Him, when I can echo Job and say “though He slay me, yet I will praise Him”. Then and only then can we truly see the fruit in our lives as a great gift from God and not the results of our own striving.

Heat, Thorn, Cross, and Fruit

This helped me to identify the sins within myself. it also helped me to see that we both have to be willing to carry our own weight in relationships. My big ah ha was the thornes (how we respond).

Humbling by knives to the heart

It will unbury your idols and challenge your mind. A wonderful listen. A bit dense and dry and so I’ve listened in chunks but the content is incredibly rich.
