Publisher's summary

Jana Fleischer loves her life - wonderful family, best sister in the world, awesome soon to be sister-in-law, fabulous job, and a never-ending stream of men to chew through and spit out. So what if everyone says she’s too picky and she’s never had a real relationship?

When a chance meeting with Brooke Donnelly leaves Jana literally and figuratively off-balance, it doesn’t take long for her initial annoyance to turn into the first sparks of friendship. Jana always thought she was happy with her life, but the more time she spends with Brooke, the more she realizes something is missing. And maybe not just in the friendship department.

But how do you make that leap when you’ve never even considered kissing a woman, and have spent your whole life avoiding romantic commitments? Being brave, taking the first step, and admitting she wants to try to make things work with Brooke is only the beginning. Whether it’s the beginning of a disaster - or everything Jana hadn’t realized she wanted - depends on if Brooke can also be brave enough....

E.J. Noyes does it again!

The first book I listened to written by this author was “Ask, Tell”. I loved the story of Sabine and Beck, so I was ecstatic to see that the author had delved into the life of Sabine’s feisty sister, Jana, in “If the Shoe Fits”. This was such a sweet, sexy love story; and coupled with the expert narration of Kelsey Navarro, I didn’t want it to end. It will definitely have you hoping for a “Higher Love”!

Excellent!!

This book was so relatable! I can’t count the number of times I teared up. Brooke was definitely my spirit animal. Great love story and perfect narration.

5 Stars

If the Shoe Fits is book 3 in the Ask, Tell series. I have not read the prior books and this book was completely standalone. This is a FF, gay for you, romance set mostly in Washington, D.C. The main characters are Jana, a straight until now, single, lawyer who is actively dating but unable to find anyone she wants a second date with, and Brooke, a single, lesbian, architect whose family does not support her sexuality.

I’m not in a reviewing mood, so I am keeping this one short-ish. I loved this book. I loved the emotions we got to see in both main characters and the personal reflection and growth. I really loved Jana’s family and her relationship with her sister. I thought Jana and Brooke were great with each other. I had a couple things for the so-so column. I wish there was an epilogue and a little more beyond what we got at the end; and there were a few times where the author used verbiage/terms that people in the U.S. don’t when the characters were meant to be American- things like a hen party for bachelorette party. Not a big deal and I am not deducting any stars for it, but it definitely makes it a little less authentic when those instances happen. Oh and I also wanted a little more resolution with Brooke’s father.

The narration was great. Overall, I give If the Shoe Fits 5 stars. I recommend this audiobook. It is definitely worth using a credit. I can see myself listening to this book again sometime down the road.

Listen/Read This Book!

Ok, I love a good series and this is a GREAT series! Ask Tell and Ask Me Again, really good and very eye opening to those of us not in the military. Very tough subject matter to say the least. If the Shoe Fits is a great light-hearted end to the series. I laughed a lot and enjoyed the journey Jana and Brooke take together. Another great book from E.J. Noyes.

Oh and I adore a Abby Craden’s narration and cringe when a series changes from her, however, Kelsey Navarro did an excellent job!

Sweet surprise

This was a really good book. I do love the story itself, the characters, and the well written progression of several coming to age events that occurred. This book was very relatable with multiple ah ha moments for me. Nicely done.

Overall a very nice story.

This is the first time I have read a nook from this author as well as the first time I've heard Kelsey Navarro narrate. I enjoyed both quite a bit. I could relate to Jana's story, which kept me listening for hours at a time. I will definitely look for more E.J Noyes novels.

Such a lovely story

After listening to Ask, Tell and Ask Me Again it was great to hear Jana’s story. You don’t have to have read those two to be able to follow this story. Kelsey Navarro did a great job doing the narration and is pretty much what I imagine Jana would sound like. The different perspective of the relationship between Sabine and Jana was refreshing as well. It’s obvious how close these two are to each other. This story is cute, funny, touching and just an overall enjoyable read.
