Publisher's summary

I’m having the definition of a bad year.

Game Six loss costing my team the Cup? Check.

Getting arrested and ruining my image? Check.

Almost getting run over after my car breaks down? Oh, look - a hat trick.

My contract is up with the Carolina Comets this year, and I need to get it together if I want to stay with the team.

I need relaxation, not a relationship.

But when I’m scrolling on a dating app and stumble across the pretty girl who almost ran me over, I know I can’t let her walk away this time.

Harper is funny, smart, and doesn’t care about hockey.

I’m not supposed to be focusing on anything other than my career, yet I can’t get Harper off my mind.

I know I shouldn’t fall for her…but I think I already have.

Puck Shy is a stand-alone hockey romantic comedy. It's good, low-angst fun with some hot hockey players.

Puck Shy (Carolina Comets #1)

OVERALL RATING: 4.5 "#SignGirlGate for the #win" STARS

PERFORMANCE REVIEW & RATING: 5 STAR

I’m a fan of Tim Paige & Callie Dalton and I think they did a really great job with this story. They both not only did well with their own voices, but also with their secondary voices as well. They brought the story to life for me and made it an exceptional listening experience!

STORY REVIEW & RATING: 4 STAR

From the blurb >>> "It's good, low angst fun with some hot hockey players." Why yes, yes it is!

Ya’ll, I cannot believe this is my first Teagan Hunter story! I spent an entire workday with these two in my ear and it was humorous bliss!! I have to have every single word this woman has ever written at my immediate disposal ASAP!!

From beginning to end, this story was entertaining and captivating. It has a lot of unique qualities to starting with their meet-cute and even Callie’s way of making a living. I especially liked the kismet theme that was woven into the storyline. It made the story not just believable but also realistic and relatable. I did a lot of smiling the day I listened to this audio, but not everything made me smile, but most of it did :)

The first plot point that didn’t make me smile was Collin’s "problem" last season. What happened was a major part of his character motivations in the present and although it was told to us what happened, I felt like I was missing a major part of what made Collin be who he was today. That incident is at the center of his mind all the time and I wish it was developed in a different way. For example, maybe having a prologue where we experience the incident and its aftermath. I don’t know, I just felt like I was missing something by not having lived that moment, if that makes sense LOL Anywho, it did not take away from my overall enjoyment of this story, but it made me kinda sorta mini #twitchy *shrug* The only other tiny nit-pick thing for me was that I felt the conflict that caused the break between them to be kinda sorta … well, silly. And Collin’s abrupt reaction to the situation was #twitchy because, adults people! UGH, with all the choices floating around out there, the author chose that for Collin’s interpretation of Harper’s video! #twitchy LOL AGAIN, tho, nothing really took away from my complete joy of this story!

I’m looking forward to listening and/or reading more Teagan Hunter in the future. Even tho this is my first by her, I can tell from reviews I’ve skimmed of her other books that her light style and voice is something I’m going to enjoy and want to get lost in more workdays in the future :)

Collin and Harper!

Puck Shy by Teagan Hunter.
This was my first Teagan Hunter book and I freaking loved it! It was so much fun! I loved the plot of the story; The pace was on point, and it was just overall everything I wanted in a sports romance!
Collin: Narrated by Tim Paige - Hockey player for Carolina Comets is heading back home when his car breaks down and he needs a lift. Insert Harper: Narrated by Callie Dalton. Collin and Harper spend time getting to know each other on their road trip home, both regretting not to exchange numbers after they reach their destinations.
When Collin scrolls through a dating app he happens to run across the girl from his road trip. He’s supposed to be tightening up and getting his career on track, but he can’t stop thinking about the smart, funny, and stunning Harper off his mind.
Overall, I adored this story, and I can’t wait to finish the rest of the series!

Loved

I am definitely in my hockey romance era! Just throw a hockey player in a romance book and I’m destined to be invested and love it.

What a new twist on a meet cute between Harper and Collin. He is just going through it and the way they meet the first time is “accidental” but then when he comes across her a second time on a dating app it’s fate.

Harper knows nothing about hockey which with everything Collin is going through is refreshing and what he needs to get back on track.

Tim Paige and Callie Dalton are new narrators to me but I really enjoyed their telling of this story. It felt like they flowed so well together and brought all the feels to life.

Hugely entertaining sports romance!!

Puck Shy, an Audiobook by Teagan Hunter is the incredibly romantic story of Collin and Harper. She nearly barrels into him with her car as he is stranded on the road. She cautiously offers him a ride. She has no idea that he is a professional hockey player with the Carolina Comets.

This story was so engaging, amusing, and wonderfully entertaining!! The repartee between these two characters is so delightful!!! Both Collin and Harper are hugely likable….but, both come with their own baggage that they need to deal with…deeply enjoyed this read!!!

This Audiobook was marvelously and joyfully narrated by Tim Paige and Callie Dalton!! They made me laugh, cry, and feel nearly every emotion under the sun!!! Really brought the story to life!!!

I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this Audiobook.

Wonderful story with great narration

I was excited when I heard Teagan Hunter was releasing a new series and even more excited when I realised it was going to be set in the world of Ice Hockey, well Puck Shy was everything I have come to expect from this talented author and more. This is Colin and Harpers journey and from the moment these two meet you find yourself hoping they get the HAE they both deserved.
Callie Dalton and Tim Paige did a fantastic job bringing this story and the characters to life. They were spot on with every emotion and all the witty banter that flows through this book.
Colin is a NHL player for the Carolina Comets and after a visit with his family he finds himself stranded after breaking down on the way back to Carolina. Harper comes to his rescue but not before nearly running him down, she agrees to give him a lift home and that was meant to be the end but fate works in mysterious ways and it seems fate is determined for these two to meet again this time on a dating site.
What follows is a cute, witty, entertaining read that will appeal to a wide range of audiences. The banter is witty, the characters adorable and what a great start to the new series.

Harper & Collin

Oh my this story was so sweet! If you want a feel good hockey romance with very little angst than you will enjoy this book. Collin and Harper meet when she almost runs him over with her car. I mean best meet cute ever right!? I really loved Harper, she was uniquely her and she was confident in that. You might think that Harper and Collin were total opposites considering Collin was a hockey player and Harper didn’t know anything about the sport. But the more time they spent together, the more similarities they found.

Tim Paige and Callie Dalton made this a really enjoyable listen. They played their parts really well and brought the story to life. Their banter throughout the book was done so well and I could really hear how they joked with each other. Exceptional listen!

Love!

Puck Shy is the first book in the Carolina Comets series and I loved Collin and Harper’s romance from the first meet. I loved the banter between them and their love for horror. I loved seeing their cute, flirty friendship grow as they talked on the app as they were talking in secret. This was a fun rom com and a the start of an amazing series. Tim Paige and Callie Dalton narrate this book and they both gave great performances as Collin and Harper.

Colin & Harper’s love story

Their meet cute when Colin’s truck broke down led to him getting a lift from Harper. They bond on their love of horror movies during the drive. Colin is wary of being noticed as defenseman for the Carolina Comets by fans. He’s relieved when he realizes she has no idea who he is. He makes the mistake of not telling her the details of what he does for work. When she goes to a hockey game with her friend, he sees her and skates up which is how she understands his real job. She’s wary of him because of an unfortunate family drama from the past.

I really enjoyed their repartee and their mutual attraction that grew into deep love for each other.
