Publisher's summary

Jet McAlister has a secret. Eddie Chavez has the hots for Jet (not to mention Eddie’s just plain hot). Jet has too many problems to realize that Eddie’s interested. Eddie loses patience when Jet ends her waitressing shift at a strip club with a knife at her throat. Since Eddie’s a cop, he figures he can help. Since Jet’s used to solving everyone’s problems she doesn’t want Eddie’s help.

Throw in a Dolly Parton look-alike, a gruff but lovable strip club owner, Jet’s ne’er do well father, his ne’er do well friend, Bear, Bear’s long-suffering, chain-smoking wife Lavonne and the crew from Rock Chick and you’ve got Rock Chick Rescue.

Rock Chick Rescue takes you on a wild ride with Jet, Eddie and the gang as they wrestle bad guys in a bagel shop, hit Denver’s backstreet poker tables (with big hair), and help the strippers at Smithie’s take down a would-be murderer.

Through this, Jet’s got to learn that even when life made you give up your dreams, you can still end up with the (hot) guy. Eddie’s got to rescue Jet from a bad man (so he can do better things with her) and teach her that some dreams can come true.

5 Rescue Stars

I freaking love EDDIE!! Ok now that I got that out of my system. We have to talk about this book not only did Kristen Ashley make me love Eddie; I have a thing for Ada! Haha She cracks me up, this little 81 year old woman. Who wouldn’t love her!

“Do they take senior citizens? I’m eighty-one, but, I swear, I have the reflexes of a sixty year old.” – Ada

Who wouldn’t fall in love that! Ok back to Eddie Mr. Cop man. You just know the first time he see’s Jet that its love at first sight and I don’t say that often. Because I don’t think all authors can portray that well.

Oh but Jet does not make it easy on him. No she doesn’t she is shy and ends up putting her foot in her mouth a lot around Eddie. It’s sad and comical.

‘Not that I was scared shitless of being bad in bed and disappointing him. Or worse, being truly happy for the first time in my life and having it not last.’ – Jet

But Jet has a lot on her plate, her dad is a flake, her mom had a stroke and Jet is helping take care of her. Which means the bills and other expenses falls on her shoulders. She doesn’t want to burden her sister.
So when Eddie crashes into her life, he makes sure she has someone to lean on even if she fights him every step of the way.

“Babe, watching you these past months has been like watching a flower bloom. Don’t disappoint us.” – Mase

I also love that Eddie calls Jet ‘Chiquita’ don’t ask me why I like this it just makes me smile. And I think I might be the one in an Eddie daze after this book.. Sign I need more.

‘He did another lip touch. This one was a new one. It lasted longer and included a tongue touch. It was yum. I hit a full-on Eddie Daze.’ – Jet

And again because I am going to say this with each new book, I love this narrator!!!! Ok I am done. :D

Rock Chick Rocks!

Where does Rock Chick Rescue rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

What a great book! Great story, great narration, and one of the funniest books I've read in ages!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rock Chick Rescue?

The character interactions are hilarious. It's serious action, then a love story, then pure comedy. Totally great book!

Which character – as performed by Susannah Jones – was your favorite?

The main character, Jet, is absolutely impossible not to love.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. When I found out there was a first in the series, I bought extra credits, and ordered it right away. I'll be listening to that one as soon as I'm finished with this one!

Any additional comments?

Got this because it was on a two for one sale. If you've never read it, read it. Best surprise book I've bought in ages!

Rock Chick

Another great addition to the series. It wasn't my favorite, but I still loved it and the whole roller coaster ride that is a Rock Chick book.

A Little Bit of a Spoiler...

The only thing that bothered me in this story was that she didn't grab her stun gun when she was going to meet Vince at the end of the story. I understand the urgency of the situation with him having her sister and threatening to do heinous things to then both. But I'd have grabbed the stun gun on my way out the door to meet the man that had repeatedly attacked and threatened me. That was really the only part of the story that bothered me.

Love, suspense, action, very good performance

This Rock Chick book has lovable, varied, fun characters as well as action, suspense, and romance with some humor sprinkled in. It's a little bit redundant in parts, plus I don't care for the graphic sex. Still, I really don't understand all the bad reviews. This book adds to the Rock Chick overall story and is fun and enjoyable. The performance is very good. It is a very entertaining listen.

Love this narratior!

This series is one of my favorites to reread as well has listen to. The narrator is my top favorite! She does such a great job with the characters and story that I just get lost in listening and don’t even realize how much time has passed. It helps she has a good book to read too.

Eddie!!!!

I'm making good progress on rereading this favourite series via audio, mainly because The Rock Chick series is a lot of fun to listen to, and very easy to binge listen. The narrator does a great performance of all the female characters.

I love Eddie Chavez - he's hot, patient, and determined to win Jet over, even though Jet is rather oblivious to his attempts to start with. Rock Chick Rescue has it all - it's funny, has some emotional moments, lots of action, and Tex ( I LOVE TEX!!) Rock Chick Rescue also has Daisy, and I adore Daisy, she is a wonderful addition to the Rock Chicks. Moving straight onto Roxie and Hank.

Good

This storyline was good but not my favorite. Like all Rock Chick books it had action and a love story but that Jet was really working my nerves at the end. I don't understand how she couldn't see how much Eddie was into her. Overall still a great read and worth the credit.

No Dull Moment

Would you consider the audio edition of Rock Chick Rescue to be better than the print version?

Yes. That's because I can experience the feelings of the characters through the nuances in the voice pitch of the performer, especially Lee. I can just picture Indy in my head. True.

What did you like best about this story?

The hair raising, dangerous, insane rush to solve the reason behind the diamond heist.

Have you listened to any of Susannah Jones’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh out loud.

Any additional comments?

I also love Ally in this book.
