Couldn’t stop listening

I actually started listening to this book with low expectations, but was very pleasantly surprised. It’s the story of a young, beautiful and talented country singer who escapes a dark past to try her luck in Nashville. She’s befriended by an aging country star read by Dolly Parton. The first part of the book is all about her making it in Nashville and the last part is spent on the mystery of her past. The violence in the book is handled with a very light touch and the sex with no touch, which was a bit disappointing.

I enjoyed the readers, but REALLY wish there had been some singing. Reading the lines of the songs just wasn’t good enough. With some songs I would have given it 5 stars.

Phenomenal Story

The audio of this fabulous story is the best I’ve ever experienced. The development of each character made you feel as though they were real. The determination of Rose/Annie Lee was intense. Her relationships along the way heartwarming and emotional. This was a story that I didn’t want to end. I enjoyed every minute of this 10+ hour audio.

Great Storyline

Sometimes Dolly sounded as if her dentures were loose.

Loved the book. Do another, soon!

An enjoyable, predictable, satisfying ride

Especially good in the Audible version— perfect voices (especially the male ones). Had no trouble keeping me listening.

Fantastic Story!

The talent of Patterson to twist and turn the plot making it impossible to put the book down was awesome as always. The insights into the music business and Dolly’s wonderful voice and wit were a wonderful treat! This was by far my fav James Patterson book 👍😁

Amazing

This was my very first James Patterson story I have listened to. Yes, Dolly Parton was a huge reason I purchased it and I was disappointed one bit. I will definitely look into more James Patterson stories in the future. This was definitely worth every word.

Both.

A look at the country music business and a story of one woman’s struggles to survive. A good book on tape.
