I enjoyed the book and was surprised by the ending. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Best so far in this series

Very suspenseful some hard to listen to scenes. But the storyline was good. Characters are portrayed believably, narration is excellent. I love this author on to the next one.

This book drew me in right from the beginning and never let go. Love the narrater

You may know who did it....

...but you don't! A nice thriller, with a good narrator, weaving a past crime into a current situation. I think I listened to this in 3 days..not sure. My point is that I listened to this s book at every opportunity. A definite 2 thumbs up.

My first MR book.

And I’m now a certified fan! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was looking for another series I could enjoy as much as Stuart MacBride’s Logan McRae series. I searched for similar authors to MacBride and Robotham’s name popped up. His series easily had the best ratings of the three or four I was debating. Couldn’t make up my mind so went with the obvious and I wasn’t disappointed. Already purchased the next book. Only wish now I would’ve started at the beginning. But if I’m unsure about committing to a huge multi-book series sometimes I’ll start with the one that is supposedly the best. Kind of cheating I know but if it’s good enough then I’ll enjoy all the previous books as a prequel binge. Definitely recommend this book.

Also, the description of the abuse and violence isn’t even close to as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be. Obviously, still pretty grim and unsettling. But would we fear all the sexual predators and child molesters in this genre if the authors kept it sanitized? Comes with the territory of these type of books. Don’t go into the woods if you’re scared of what might be inside...

Had me on edge

This story is fantastic! It is creepy, terrible, evil, sad, and allows brutal honesty regarding the worst of human nature. It too shows the best of mankind. a true real horror story and it is as real as real can be; thank god it is just a story of fiction.

Unbelievably good

Robotham is a master of suspense. Each book is better than his last . Have listened to 5 and can't wait until I start the next book. Sean Barrett is the perfect narrator. Be careful ....a very addictive combination.

Amazing

This is my first Michael Robotham book. I can assure you, it will not be my last. I was captivated.
