Featured Article: Princess Leia Organa—A Star Wars Character Guide

There are few fictional characters as iconic as Princess Leia Organa. The inimitable Carrie Fisher, who portrayed Leia Organa on the big screen until her tragic death in 2016, brought a distinct magnetism and spirit to the character. The Alderaanian princess was a heroine who was constantly evolving, ferociously witty, and unapologetically ambitious. From a royal childhood to her work with the Resistance, here's our essential guide to Leia Organa.

Fantastic

The politics of Star Wars are best done in book form. This is Exhibit A

All Hail The Princess

If you love Leia, you’ll love this book. It helps to know who the writer had in mind of the characters you see, but this book is provocative, deeply political while action-packed and really feeds that curiosity of “How the hell did we get HERE?!” That Force Awakens brought out in me. I loved, loved, LOVED getting to see more of Han, because it also took their separation from seeming really sad and unlikely to more a product of their lives and it’s less upsetting. Overall, can’t recommend it enough. Those last few chapters had me crying in spots. Also, January LaVoy does an AMAZING job with all the characters! The production quality’s awesome, too, with scoring and full SFX to immerse you. I will be listening to this again when I miss our Princess...

Decent story, but left wanting

I enjoyed the book. Nice to have references and tie ins throughout the story of episodes past. However, I could have used some more context of the rest of the galaxy (don't want to spoil this book for you). Perhaps I'll find it in the next book of the series.

Solid book

It starts a little slower than I'd like and the big plot point that I have a problem with is that (slight spoiler next)I would like to imagine that no one would truly be held in the same light as their blood parent if they weren't raised by them. But then again, people as a group can be rather irrational.
But as a story, once it got going, the was fun and did move really well. M's. LaVoy is a very nice person (saw her at Anaheim), very talented, and does do some cool voices.

Star Wars Politics

Bloodline does a good job of filling in some of the political blanks between Return of the Jedi and the Force Awakens. Although it was an enjoyable book, I would not recommend it to new readers in the Star Wars universe because it may come off as a bit dry and there are better books for newcomers to start with.

a new angle

while I am a die hard Expanded universe fan, I have to say Bloodlines explored the vast politic consequences of Leia's connection to Lord Vader.

previous stories kind of made it seem the galaxy. got over it. in this story it showed that despite her sterling record, it would seem that blood connection had severe consequences.

A worthy story and definitely adds a piece on how the Resistance was started.

Where's the sequel to this book?

Loved it! The addition of sound effects and music was great and the narrator was brilliant. A very convincing Princess Leia.
