Great Story, Terrible Abridged.
I mistakenly bought the abridged version of this great book... So much lost in this version that it is really not worth it. The performance and Story suffer from the major cuts from this version that it leaves open too many questions. Get the full version.

Good Book
Loved the book, although I have not read an Anne Rice book I did not love. It is a good story and it is book 1 of 3 in athis series and I am very much looking forward to reading the next 2. I highly reccomend this book and all the other Anne Rice books.

Great Audio and Book
I enjoyed the accent of the narrator because it was easy to understand, he kept me engaged, and has a voice like silk.
The options to pause, speed up, slow down, rewind, fast forward, etcetera worked perfectly.
The book itself was captivating, but I must say that it was a bit difficult to keep up with who was speaking when at certain points.
Nevertheless, I recommend this app (LOVE the free trial option) and this book, too!

Background music is awful
The story is OK and the narrator does a good job overall. I'm giving 2 stars for the performance only because the narrator did well but they played music, I'm assuming to set the scene, in the "background" while narrating. It was so loud and distracting that I couldn't hear the story.

The Music!
As a teenager in the 2010's who discovered this in her mom's book collection, I have been obsessed ever since. I can confidently say the music and the person reading/narrating the story, is an event greater addition to this already wonderful and scary masterpiece. Mummies are and will always be my favorite "monster character". I can't wait to see what the next book has in store. 10/10 will listen/read again!
