Publisher's summary

This collection includes the first four books in the Return of the Elves romantic fantasy series: Soulbound, Sundered, Exiled, and Seared.

A hidden conspiracy

When Arlyn journeys through the Veil from Earth to Moranaia to confront her elven father, Lord Lyr, she has no idea what to expect. Getting soulbonded her first day there and kickstarting a plot against the father she just met? Yeah, neither of those were on the list. As her magic awakens, Arlyn must learn to use her gifts to face the rising danger.

A threat that spans worlds.

For the threat doesn’t end with Moranaia. Poisoned energy is flooding into the closely connected realms of the fae, causing sickness, and petitions for aid arrive from as far away as fabled Alfheim. With only Moranaia untouched, Lyr must rush to find the source of the threat.

An unexpected enemy

Mistakenly exiled to Earth, Delbin tries his best to keep a low profile. But when a rogue Moranaian prince tries to recruit Delbin, life takes a complicated turn. Now Delbin and the scout Inona must work together to hunt down Prince Kien before he unleashes his latest plot.

A fate long foretold.

After more than three hundred years on Earth, Prince Ralan has finally returned to Moranaia. But with his wicked brother Kien on the loose, the homecoming is a short one. A dire vision sends Ralan back to Earth to save his soulbonded from his dark brother. The problem? Ralan’s Sight is broken—and stopping Kien will mean Ralan’s death.

Journey through the Return of the Elves series, where half-bloods, exiles, scouts, and seers must come together to prevent their worlds’ destruction.

It was believable

Sometimes it was hard getting the story right and you’d need to rehear a few chapters

Pins and needles

The perfect balance of tension. Voice actors were pleasant. Magic systems have their own unique quirks but still familiar for the genre.

Had potential but couldn’t keep my attention

Really wanted to like it but I stopped and started countless times . Female narrator made character sound whiny. Off putting

slow to start.

The story had a very slow start. After a couple of chapters, it picked up. After the start, I enjoyed the story and the narration.

Dialect work needed

While the timber of the male narrator was pleasant to listen to, both authors butchered the dialect of Appalachian mtns regions. It doesn’t sound like the bayous of Louisiana or rural Deep South. And Chattanooga is Chat-ta-noo-ga.

The story was tame enough for those that blush easily, and different enough from other popular trend elfin storylines to not feel like your reading the same story just different names for f some series.

Not a bad listen for a free boxset- Don't give up!

If you are the rare person who reads reviews before starting the book just know that I agree with all the other reviews. The bad ones, the good ones and the eh ones. They are all not wrong however I didn't give up and actually ended up liking these enough that I am about to go start the next book. Oh and they snuck in a lil extra cute short story that isn't even connected but really did fit in the world. I really wish it was longer... maybe it will pop up later.

If you are reading reviews midway through listening to the book(s) to see what others thought because you are questioning your current choice I will tell you hang in there. I’ll list a few things that made me almost do the same thing:
- The POVs are not just the 2 "main" characters because all of them tie together.
-Don’t worry those super long names/titles she lists over and over in the 1st book… she pretty much stops doing that in the other books. Yes they get said here and there but nothing like the 1st book.
-Each book follows a different romance couple but is still tied together. Oh and possible love interests I can usually guess for next books I was happily surprised I was wrong.
-If you are into not overly graphic romance but doesn't feel like a YA these are wonderful.
-I wish I could contact people who left reviews to let them know that these are all now free on the Catalog because there were a few that seemed like they would keep reading but didn't want to waste a credit lol.
-I suggest breaks from time to time and set your sleep timer if you lay down to listen because they are so smooth and relaxing.
-Buut yes it was slower so if that isn't your.. speed (lol)... then this wont be for you.
If you need the narrator or character POV to only switch at the start of a new chapter this one isn't for you.

What made me not give that 5th star: I wish the narrators... fit the younger characters more or that they had used more than just 2 narrators. If they are going to do the POV of 4 males and 3 females just in one book they need to have a bit more separation in the voices. I'm going to stop before I come off ageist.

Listen to all first 4 books together!

I read a review midway through and agree that it can be a bit slow and the narrators voice doesn’t quite transition within each character enough so you’ve got to pay attention.

Glad they are free because some of the shorter ones would put me off if I had to wait for credit or pay.
It’s a book that kept my attention and the character descriptions are great!
I’m looking forward to continuing my listening as the story has me wrapped!!

You’ll need a cheat sheet

There are so many unique names in this series that I’m struggling to know who is who or what is what. It’s very confusing. I’ve made myself a cheat sheet and you should too. Other than that, I really liked these books.
