Enlightening Listen
This audiobook really opened my eyes. As I listened, I became aware of behaviors and beliefs that have been so ingrained in me and have been having a huge impact on my relationships. I did not realize that, in many ways, I was re-enacting the dynamic in my relationship with my parents in my adult relationships. It was a shocking revelation. This audiobook not only made me see this connection but gently showed me the steps to take to move forward and created much healthier dynamics in my relationships; it has been very helpful to me.

Great insight
I have a daughter who has struggled with attachment issues and as she gets older I worry about the issues she will have with relationships because of her abandonment issues and her already crippling anxiety. She is currently in a relationship and I am seeing issues already so when listening to this book, I realize there is a lot she can do to help herself and things I can even do to help her. I want her to be confident in her relationships and not have to shrink down when she becomes too uncomfortable when trying to speak up for herself and especially I want her to be able to realize a healthy relationship from a toxic one. If she feels like she will be abandoned or alone, she may not be willing to risk speaking up for her own needs and could then lead her down a path of a very unhealthy relationship.
If you or someone you know is in a relationship simply because they are too afraid of being alone or if they constantly cower down to their own needs just to make sure the other person is happy, then this is a great book to start to break free from the chains.
