Good story
Book of high quality. The interpretation of the caracters (gender and age) not good at all. The voice of Grietjie remained that of a small child and male rolls sounded forced. Should be a reading. Not a voice over.

Dit is amazing hoe Irma iets uit die geskiedenis so oulike storie kan maak.
Waarvan ek ook gehou het is alhoewel die storie lank was, het ek nie eenmaal gevoel dat die storie op n einde moes kom lank voordie tyd nie, wat ek wel soms vind by ander lang stories nie.

Fantastiese Storie
Soos met “Ver wink die Suider kruis” het Irma Joubert het ‘n ongelooflike hoeveelheid kennis en navorsing in die skrywing van hierdie storie ingesit. Die storie van Grietjie en Jakob wat in die WW2 geskiedenis ingeweef is maak vir ‘n sterk kontras, maar ‘n pragtige storie. Ek wens dat ‘n meer ervare voorleser vir die boek gekies was, alhoewel ek het dit steeds baie geniet.

Terrible!!!
It’s supposed to be a reading not a terrible Radio theater production.
The delivery is poor and definitely not on the same standard as the other audio books I’ve listened to
