The Origin Story of the Book of Revelation

What in the world was going on when John had his visions of apocalypse?

Ancient Rome, AD 64. Alexander, a Jewish doctor loyal to Rome, has his life turned upside down when the evil emperor Nero Caesar launches a horrific persecution of Christians.

When Nero discovers that an apostle has written a secret apocalypse about the end of the world, he orders a Roman warrior to hunt down the scroll, destroy it, and kill the author.

But a bold Christian woman named Cassandra holds a dark secret that opens the door to a world of spiritual warfare they’re not ready to face.

It will lead them to the holy city of Jerusalem and to the true meaning of the apocalypse.

It will change their world forever. And yours.

Tyrant: Rise of the Beast is Book 1 in the shocking controversial series Chronicles of the Apocalypse. It’s an edge-of-your-seat action-packed supernatural epic, written by Brian Godawa, respected Christian and best-selling Biblical author.

Spiritual Warfare, Angels and Demons

The human story is not the only one in the book of Revelation or in this series. Chronicles of the Apocalypse shows the evil plans of Satan and his fallen angels the Watchers masquerading as gods of the nations at war. This gang of demons is not going down easily.

Tyrant

Awesome. Another classic by Brian Godawa. A good eye opener for one of the most misunderstood books in the Bible.
The only small section I did not particularly care for was Godawa's presentation of the 3 angel's attempt to capture Appollion before his decent to Tartarus. Godawa showed 2 of the 3 angels engaged in their silly rivalry and inattentive and that was part cause of them not capturing him. I could not wrap my mind around the fact that the evil one was stronger, swifter and far more focused than God's angels. But the book was an absolute classic; can't wait until Remnant comes to Audio books. Godawa is such an awesome narrator Great job!

The story itself

Im in love with the combination of history and fantasy. The story itself is so well put together that its almost hard to believe it is not a story from the original text of the bible. The story and narration leave you on the edge of seat. The great attention to detail the combination of facts and fiction makes a listener feel as though they are watching events unfold from behind the veil. I have loved Brian's work from the Chronicles of the nephilim to now and i have yet to be disappointed

Good enough for a first book.

I do not completely agree with the theology. However, story line is pretty good. Enjoy

Excellent Read

I'm not typically one to read Christian fiction, but after buying some of Brian's non fiction works and enjoying them immensely, I decided to give this series a try, and I'm so glad I did.

Reading it felt like stepping back in time to the years immediately following the resurrection from the perspective of those living (and dying) for the cause of Christ, as well as unseen realm of angels, both holy and unholy. Not to mention, he's an excellent narrator as well, and I highly recommend giving these books a try.

Interesting Quest for Understanding

I've understood for quite some time now that Rome/Edom's dressing belivers in animal skins for the arena is a direct reenactment of Jacob wearing Esau's animal skin clothing with revenge being completed. Knew Nero was sick too. But I didn't realize just how much reenacting/theatrica he perpetrated in arena. Story is a literal "quest" for Understanding Revelation. Plus I love the way Brian reads. Because of the research he's put in, he knows exactly how to say or stress what's important.

Knowledge of the Bible comes ALIVE and REAL!!

Where does Tyrant: Rise of the Beast rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The most impactful.

What did you like best about this story?

The reality of the the times was created through relationships and with graphic imagery. I read the Bible and it will never be the same experience because of Gadawa's work. No more emotional distance from what the followers of Christ faced in this era. It gave clarity to the Nero's insanity and brutal psychopathic personality. His power could command the brutality, gore and inhumanity.... to a cheering audience. The book or Revelation will be read anew. This is an amazing work, creating clarity to symbolic representations to the final writings of John.

Which character – as performed by Brian Godawa – was your favorite?

None Specific

Who was the most memorable character of Tyrant: Rise of the Beast and why?

None Specific, apart from Nero, I "got" them and their journey, very relatable. That is why it is hard for me to chose one in particular.

Any additional comments?

I am so grateful to have this new found knowledge of these times and the symbolic imagery in the book or Revelation. Also, being able to go to Brian Godawa's website for his the massive amount of research gave authentic underpinnings to the story. His character illustrations is a bonus. This is an extraordinary completion to the listening experience. For two days II lost sleep because I could not close my audible "read". A listening "page turner"!
