A Different World
I’m still so in love with the Broken World, Twisted, Oklahoma & Far series it’s hard to not have more of those adventures but you have to move on and I get that. I have read everything published that Kate has written and I literally LOVE every single book. I especially loved the unexpected Golden Cage, I literally recommend that to everyone even those who would not be into the traditional Kate L Mary genre. This series has got me excited for what is to come. I know it’s going to be different and I’m okay with that and trying to patiently wait for the next books to follow! I am however kind of turned off to the references to certain movies, books and current or recent events. When I read, I like to get lost in worlds that aren’t the ones I live in and this was a big turn off for me. Kate you do an AMAZING job painting a picture of worlds we don’t experience in our everyday reality, please continue to bring us to the worlds you create and describe for our imagination based on the words you write and unique thoughts you imagine rather than remind us of things we have already experienced and formed opinions on. Overall, I’m going to continue with this series…bonus, the characters are more my age!!! I have enjoyed it but it definitely felt slightly disconnected to Kate’s writing style. I do feel like it is going to come back together in the next books.

Slow Start
I’m a huge Kate L Mary fan but had a hard time with the beginning of the book to the point I almost stopped listening BUT I didn’t and I’m glad. I really enjoyed the story and can’t wait for Book 2

World of Blood
I enjoyed this first book in a new series. Good character development. (I have favorite characters already.) New twist on the "monsters" has me intrigued. Definitely a worse case scenario for these monsters than the same amount of ordinary zombies. Looking forward to the next book. This author has several good zombie apocalypse series available. Narrator was easy to listen to.

Good but too many details
This book was good, I have listened to her other series but this one had way too many unnecessary details that do not impact the story. Like leaving her phone in the bathroom or reasons why she wears a watch. Not sure if I will continue with the next book.
