Publisher's summary

When the four partners of a prominent law firm are killed in a mysterious plane crash, their widows must come together to uncover the truth in this explosive, edge-of-your-seat novel.

It’s 1985 in Providence, Rhode Island, and the four partners of a prominent, mafia-affiliated law firm have been killed in a private jet that went down outside New York City. Four very different women have just lost the loves of their lives: Justine, a former fashion model adjusting to suburban life; Camille, a beautiful, young second wife some suspect is a gold digger; Krystle, committed to leaving the firm to her sons after her husband worked his whole life to support them all; and Meredith, a stripper at the local club who was in a secret relationship with the firm’s sole female partner. While the crash is initially ruled a tragic accident, something’s not adding up: The team wasn’t supposed to be in New York that day, and it’s soon revealed that there was a very large sum of cash that burned up with the plane. The women find themselves thrown together in search of the truth, with new danger and threats unfolding at every turn.

Could a dissatisfied client be seeking revenge? Or were the partners involved in something bigger—something dangerous and deadly? What other secrets were the partners keeping, and how far might people go to ensure they stay hidden? The widows must find the answers in order to protect their inheritance, their families, and their lives.

More Married to the Mob than Sopranos

This had me feeling all the vibes of Married to the Mob with Michelle Pfeiffer, minus the romance. Yes, there’s occasional F bombs, mob violence, and female objectification. But, there’s more fun, twists, and ‘80s guido-craziness. Best yet, these four widows are forces to be reckoned with and narrated to fantastic effect. I enjoyed this immensely.

A Good One!

I really enjoyed this book! My favorite part was the fight in and out of the limo. Too funny. I loved the fact that each wife had a different voice. And Krystal was on point.

Loved Every Minute!

This has been a highly anticipated listen for me ever since I heard it was being developed. Take four amazing thriller writers, have them each write a different character, make it an Audible original, and set it in the 80s in Rhode Island? It's like a dream, and it did not disappoint!

Think The First Wives Club, except the spouses are all dead, and the wives are being chased by the mob. It's nonstop fun, it's funny, it's campy, it's risqué. It borders unbelievable at times and there were some predictable points, but there were other twists that had me shocked. The characters each have their own unique personality, and the narration is incredible. Krystle is absolutely fantastic, funny, and has some amazing one-liners, and the narrator's accent (Dina Pearlman) was incredible. I also loved the narration for Justine (Ariel Blake) and will happily seek out other audiobooks she has narrated.

I flew through this one, I couldn't get enough, and I was kind of sad when it was over. I really hope we get a sequel someday 😆 Highly recommended. Not a spooky-scary thriller, but a super fun ride for sure!

This book was GREAT!!!

I downloaded this book because it was free. Now I have downloaded Audible Originals before and not been leased. But Young Rich Widows is one of the bet books I’ve listened to in a long time. I give it 5 stars across the board!
The ONLY negative is that the “F” word was used a lot. I cannot figure out why writers today feel it necessary to use curse words, especially that one! They really don’t move the story forward.
In closing, the book was really good! Much better than some I used credits to buy! Thanks AUDIBLE for publishing your books!
