Publisher's summary

Matthew Prince is young, rich, and thoroughly spoiled. So what if his parents barely remember he exists and the press is totally obsessed with him? He's on top of the world. But one major PR misstep later, he's cut off and shipped away to spend the holidays in his grandparents' charming small-town hellscape. Population: who cares?

It's bad enough that he's stuck in some festive winter wonderland—it's even worse that he has to share space with Hector Martinez, an obnoxiously attractive local who's unimpressed with anything and everything Matthew does.

Just when it looks like the holiday season is bringing nothing but heated squabbles, the charity gala loses its coordinator, and Matthew steps in as a saintly act to get home early on good behavior...with Hector as his maddening plus-one. But even a Grinch can't resist the unexpected joy of found family, and in the end, the forced proximity and infectious holiday cheer might be enough to make a lonely Prince's heart grow three sizes this year.

Privilege, Growth, and Love

While a self centered and privileged character can be hard to love and root for through their terrible choices, I loved Matthew Prince. Sure, I saw him getting cut off helping him grow into a better person a mile away, but the journey was so sweet.

Good listen. I definitely recommend.

This was such an adorable book. I am not a Christmas gay so I was excited to hear about this. I’ve been called a grinch from time to time. So I felt for Mathew. Such an amazing story

MY NEW FAVORITE CHRISTMAS BOOK

This book was such a pleasant surprise for me. I had never read a Christmas book that I thoroughly enjoyed until right now. I really loved the development with Matthews character. Watching his character progress from a spoiled kid to a thoughtful, passionate man was so much fun to listen to. I really loved his relationship with Hector.! The hate to love romance here really had me ready for any exchanges the two had together. The scenery really held my attention, the dialogue. God it was just so dang cute. Overall this book was so so lovely and much needed.!

Incredible Story + Excellent Narration!

One of the best gay ya novels I have read in a while. I live for Matthew and Hector’s relationship. The narrator is incredible, and excellently portrays the voices of the different characters without being annoying. Great story, great characters, great plot line - highly recommend!

Hallmark Movie Time

Let’s be honest, we know how this story goes. It’s a delightful take on the dozens of Christmas romance movies playing on basic cable all December. Even though the plot isn’t groundbreaking, it’s very well done and a pleasure to experience. The conflicts and character growth was organic and believable, while set amongst scenes like a tree farm or Christmas light extravaganza. I found myself invested in the characters, smiling at their banter and heart aching for their hurts. I had fun listening to it and will definitely do so again.

The narrator sounded young, as fitting for the main character, but voiced a wide range of people of all ages and genders in a natural sounding way. I really enjoyed his performance.

Sweet queer holiday romcom!

I really enjoyed listening to this one during Christmas week :D

If Schitt's Creek was a romcom book, this would be it. Sweet, full of personal growth, and loveable characters. Small town boy x city boy, spoiled rich boy x regular guy, anxiety rep.
