About this listen

After years of questioning her sanity, Kat Delancey reluctantly returns to the old family manor as its legal owner, hoping desperately to silence the doubts in her mind and leave the home's tragic past behind her once and for all. But it turns out to be harder than she expected, and not just because of the estranged step-family waiting for her - because maybe Kat's mind was never playing tricks on her after all, and maybe the manor harbors a far more malevolent presence than she ever dreamed...

Isn't predictable

It could've been scarier but nevertheless it was still enjoyable. In my mind I predicted how the story was going to go...but I qas pleasantly surprised!

A Good Ghost Story…But More About The Ghost Needed

I enjoyed this book. The character development and plot line exposition really would have benefited from a gripping historical preface— perhaps the experience of one of the previous haunted family members. Instead, there really wasn’t any action until the very end, which made for a slower, not-so-interesting story in the middle of the book.

The ending was good, though. I didn’t guess what was coming, and it’s always nice to be surprised. I just wish that more details of the ‘hidden truth’ and its supernatural resolution had been shared by the author before the story’s end.

All in all, it’s a good read. I just wish I wasn’t left feeling as though some parts were missing.

I refused to DNF

The book started out ok. I found that I had to constantly go back and reread pages because I was just zoning out. I really wanted to like this book the pace was so slow. I felt there were areas the author had an opportunity to expand on the story. I found there were too many instances where I had no idea what was going on.

If the author was trying to leave the reader a bit dazed, they succeeded.

I think the idea of the story was great and it had a lot of potential but it seemed like too many ideas were shoved into one storyline.
