About this listen

On the surface, capable teenage boys may look lazy. But dig a little deeper, writes child psychologist Adam Price in He's Not Lazy, and you'll often find conflicted boys who want to do well in middle and high school but are afraid to fail and so do not try.

This audiobook can help you become an ally with your son as he discovers greater self-confidence and accepts responsibility for his future.

Game changer

This book not only opened my eyes in way that I could “truly” help my son, but also a way to “help” myself. I searched for something to help me and the desperation I was experiencing. I knew if I was overwhelmed so was my child but yet we kept going in and out of our same cycle.

He’s Not Lazy opened my eyes, my heart and my mind to so much more than I bargained I’d get. First chapter I felt like I could breath again, such a weight lifted. By the final chapter I knew my son could and would over come his obstacles in his own time and I would survive his teenage years.

Parents who have boys with learning disabilities or boys experiencing a hard time finding out who they because you’re in their way…this is an excellent read. Game changer!

Well done

It was mostly about young men who were lazy regarding school, sprinkled with psychology of how and what their lives are like me made of.

Had some good points

If you have an opt out child, I have two, this offers up some good insight. I would say that not all opt out boys opt out the same way. How we approach raising them to be independent, self motivated, emotional and mentally healthy members of society will differ from child to child. I’ve started implementing several techniques from this book and have found them to be wonderful tools in my parenting tool box.

Great introduction into parenting of teens

As a mom of a boy whose teenage years are just starting, I got great insight into basics of such parenting. Got answers to some essential questions I was wondering. I believe that almost every parent will connect with issues discussed in the book. The narration also made it an easy listen.

Good advice

I will register to this as our sons get older. Lots of good information and validation for what we are already trying to do.

Very helpful

I found this book incredibly helpful. I have three sons. Youngest is 17 now and has struggled with many issues that are addressed in the book. Equally important are the challenges that he presented to me as a parent. Thank you.

This is a healthy parenting fast food.

The book is very easy to digest. The pronunciations are very clear. I can hear most of the vocabulary clearly even though English is my second language.

This book may help me to avoid speaking too much or doing too much to my son. Also, this book remind me to listen to my son proactively bye asking appropriate question. Preparing the examples of making mistakes It’s very important to our conversation.

A great read for parents of boy

I found the information very useful and practical. i really like the lists, suggestions, and examples.
I would have enjoyed the author's voice more so than the narrator. yet once I got past that, I was able to listen and learn.

excellent

This book has given me so much good brain food. I had to look closely at myself and the changes I want to make for my children. I have only implemented a small amount of his advice and I have seen such great results! My son is taking on his own life. So proud of him and thankful for this advice.
