About this listen

If hindsight is 20/20 vision, dating radar is x-ray vision.

Why do so many of us commit to the wrong person? Most believe that attraction and compatibility are the keys to relationship success when, in reality, these are red flags in 15-20% of the population. When it comes to love, the brain is irrational and shortsighted. We make decisions based on incomplete information, biased understanding, and strong emotion.

Love truly is blind. That's why you need dating radar - it gives you a way to detect hazards you might otherwise miss by recognizing:

  • Warning signs of certain personalities that can spell love relationship danger
  • Ways that they can jam your radar (deceive you)
  • Where your own blind spots might be

Attorney, mediator, and social worker Bill Eddy and relationship expert Megan Hunter use their expertise in high-conflict personalities, complicated relationships, and divorce to equip us to see through the blinding spark of new love and spot potential toxic relationships before it's too late.

I’ve given 5 Stars on all of this book

It’s a great book however it tells us a lot of what other books teach us in the first three chapters it’s the same info I’m getting in other books. Just different way of terming the same type of relationships. It’s a good book though.. easy to understand

Don’t let the narration turn you off, this book is a useful tool in all of your relationships.

I only have two dislikes of this book- the overly exaggerated, dramatic reading voice and the repetition of material already covered. The reader spoke clearly, his pronunciation was always spot on but he sounds like someone reading a story to a group of 3 year olds. I kept expecting to hear something like “and now boys and girls, today we’re going to learn about narcissistic personality disorder!!” Also his reading in a female voice was annoying to the point of detracting from the story. Otherwise this book covers some very important information in a user friendly manner.

The authors of this book did an excellent job of describing the effects of several personality disorders on relationships- Borderline PD, Narcissistic PD, Sociopathic PD, Histrionic PD, Bipolar Disorder, Addiction and Autism Spectrum Disorder. They go on to give the reader a list of red flags to watch for and advice in how to deal with people of each personality disorder. I especially liked the last few minutes of the book when “how you know you’re in a healthy relationship” was discussed. This book is thorough if a bit repetitive and a useful tool for anyone in or out of a relationship- I recommend it.

Important information to protect your life

This book explains important concepts in an easy to understand, accessible manner with vignettes and real world descriptions that you'll probably be all too familiar with. Great information and insight along with practical tips on what to watch out for and how to avoid entanglements and disengage from these dangerous and destructive people.

An Overview of those with Difficult Tempera

This book provides potential motives for people who are, repeatedly, involved in verbal clashes with others in their environment. The vignettes provided, by the author, are well-selected & illustrated. This is a layperson's guide; it avoids 'psychobabble' & textbook terms. The concepts are presented are in plain language and easy to understand.

Great content, unfortunate performance

This is an incredibly useful book, but the narrator faking a female voice for anecdotes was patronizing.

Magnificent book and the best I have read

This is the best audiobook I have heard on the topic of high conflict individuals. I save this and refer to it from time to time, especially when dealing with narcissisticindividuals. Thank you for this material and the warning signs that are up to date

Bad Narrator

This would be fine if the make narrator did not try to mimic women’s voices and others in the book. Really made the narration ridiculous sounding.
