About this listen

As the Jack-of-all-wicked-trades for a secretive French military intelligence agency, Kingsley Boissonneault has done it all - spied, lied, and killed under orders. But his latest assignment is quite out of the ordinary. His commanding officer's nephew has disappeared inside a sex cult, and Kingsley has been tasked with bringing him home to safety.

The cult's holy book is Story of O, the infamous French novel of extreme sado-masochism. Their château is a looking-glass world where women reign and men are their willing slaves. Or are they willing? It's Kingsley's mission to find out.

Once inside the château, however, Kingsley quickly falls under the spell cast by the enigmatic Madame, a woman of wisdom, power, and beauty. She offers Kingsley the one thing he's always wanted. But the price? Giving up forever the only person he's ever loved.

Contains mature themes.

Kingsley!!

Tiffany Reisz once again sucks us into this incredible world. I just love Kingsley! Emotional, twisty, and kinky, we get to see Kingsley at 24, his vulnerable side, his wit, and how his time with Madame shaped him. Another spectacular addition to this Original Sinners world. Loved it!

An interim in the Kings life

I first want to mention the narration is stellar.
I am a fan of the Original Sinner series, and the King.
Kingsley (Edge) Boissonneault is a lieutenant in the French secret service. He is on assignment to filtrate a cult and find way his commanding officers nephew. Little do they know that they are also sending Kingsley into what he hopes is away to help him fight his own demon. This demon is a recurring dream of a boy in white, but after a night of being taken by a beautiful woman, a night with a beautiful Virgin, and a night of being beaten by a sadist. He is offered a chance to stay to forget or leave and remember he chooses the later. The pull is to strong, the love to great, the boy now a man in Black is his everything. Anyone who knows Kingsley and his story knows the boy in his dream and who and how much power that person has over him, and always will.

✫✫ 5 Stars ✫✫

I really enjoyed this glimpse into Kingsley's life when he was broken and hadn't become King yet. I think it was obvious that he was feeling torn down in this book and gives me more of an idea of why he changed so much during the time he spent away from Soren. Man the Madman might be more sadistic than even Soren and I loved that. Having read the Story of O, I got the Chateau more than I think I would have if I hadn't read it. I was cheering for King in the end for the choices he made. It felt like that is when he started to change.

The narration was great as always :)

Not Yet a King but well on his way

One of my favorites so far. Kingsley is definitely one of my favorite characters and this book really gives him (more) depth, if that's even possible. It is an amazing psychological look into the mind of the broken King and his Journey to find himself again. It was a great side story and I loved how it the Madame was possibly more sadistic than Soren, and the surprising little twist at the ending was a welcome surprise! All in all was an awesome book, will listen again and again!

Best yet!

Kingsley is my favorite character, Absolutely adored getting more of his back story and meeting all of the characters at The Chateau. The Madame is almost as twisted as Soren. But, I couldn't help but to fall in love and respect her. Would really enjoy hearing more about her in the future. Very well written and expertly narrated. Thank you Tiffany Reisz for giving me more of this series.

Enchantment at the Chateau

This was amazing from beginning to end. I love that I get to have this intimate look into Kingsley's background while being enchanted by Elizabeth Hart's beautiful voice. She truly brought our poor, adorable Frenchman to life.
