editing made me return this

i have no idea if the stories are any good. i couldnt stand the constant repeating of words due to bad editing. Every 4-5 minutes the reader will repeat 1-5 words 1-5 words. Its really hard to listen to.

Good stories. Totally unacceptable editing

I'm into the 2nd book (20,000 Leagues Under The Sea), and due to the constant audio stuttering, skipping, and repeating in the first two books, it's a struggle to finish both books. When the 2nd book finishes, I will remove this series from my device

Great collection with bad skips

Skips (due to editing?) aren't too bad when it skips back a second or so, but are bad when they skip forward, and words are lost.

audio cuts in and out

the audio jumps and you sometimes miss words or words are repeated again. it makes it hard to follow such interesting books that I had such a desire to listen to.

wonderful stories and readers. poor editing.

I loved this collection. the stories are truly great. for those of you who have seen the movies - listen to the real stories. just wonderful.

the readers brought the stories to life with great skill. each enhanced the stories they were reading.

oddly, there were some repeated words or phrases, as well as a few missing words or phrases. it sounds like the editing was rushed when all these stories were put together. none of the editing issues were bad enough to ruin the stories - just slightly annoying.

overall, this was a fantastic endeavor that is worth your time. Don't skip anything. you will find new joys.

Audio cuts randomly

Throughout the different books audio skips forward or backwards randomly. Frustrating but tolerable... Barely

Great sci for writing BUT…

Classic writing would be enjoyable but the download was spotty skipping and repeating with clicks and hisses. I erased it from my library and downloaded it a second time without improvement. Perhaps it was the size of the file but it was disconcerting and I chose to listen only to some of the selections because of it. I CAN NOT honestly recommend it.

Absolutely horrible editing

There are Thousands of editing errors. Sentences and Words dropped or repeated. There is scarcely a chapter of any book that doesn't contain errors. Granted, the entire series of works was rather inexpensive, but that doesn't excuse so many errors.

Wish it would have worked

I loved the collection of stories
I also loved the narrators voice when listening to the John carter books
The recording has major tech issues that I couldn’t get past
I listened to nearly 3 of the books before I could no longer take the skipping or doubling of the audio recording
It got so bad I didn’t want to listen anymore
I spoke with audible at length and waited for a resolution which never came
Finally just returned it and found the books I wanted in a different bundle
Unfortunately I never heard if they fixed the audio recording issues

Massive Collection with Flaws

I was tempted by the scope of this collection of classic science fiction literature. Many narrators are represented in the collection and the quality of narration varies considerably. However, one consistent annoyance is the engineering which results in periodic repeated words or phrases as burps in the narration. These burps are annoying but not as bad as the points where a word or text is apparently omitted. All in all, you get what you pay for. Buyer beware.
