Publisher's summary

I always wanted a nice, normal boyfriend. The kind you could bring home to your parents. Instead, I fell for Austin Wright.

We tried this once and failed. Hard.

I swore the bad-boy Wright who set my body on fire would never get a second chance, because our love is heroin-laced-gasoline-addicting and destined to go up in flames.

kinda disappointing, waiting for book 4

Book 3 wasn't nearly as good as the first two but I enjoyed it. Now when are we going to get to find out all about Morgan and Patrick, surely they can't be oblivious to their off the charts magnetic sexual kismet forever!

Narration issues

Lucy did fine, but Alexander...SMH. Why do all the women sound like Granny Clampett when you narrate them? Why does Julia have a horrid southern accent when she is from OHIO??? I could listen to Alexander speak male parts all day, but I'd prefer him in duet style from now on. Kids and women are NOT his forte.

Friends yield when love is growing amongst them

Group of friends have their lives grow into families of their own. These life changes stir in the hearts around them. Fooling around entanglements transforms in the light of the love that is near them.

love the Wright Brothers

I love the series and love the author! with being said I had a really hard time getting through this audiobook. the narrator's are probably great in other books but not this one. they were horrible speaking for the opposite sex in this book. they made it sound cheesy and were overly dramatic.

The male narration…

Ok, I’m loving this series and the Wright family but with the male narration of female voices, that was a super tough listen! Plus, I’m from Texas and the whole forced “county accent” was too much. Definitely not my favorite listen in the series.

Narrators weren’t THAT bad! 🤷🏾‍♀️

I almost skipped out on this book and the series bc of the terrible reviews regarding the narrators. They honestly weren’t that bad. The guy’s female voice was a little annoying, but I’ve heard worse. And the female’s southern accent voice was spot on if you ask me... have you ever heard a Texan talk?? Super slow and drawn out with deep southern twang.

Anyways, back to the book... Austin and Julia’s story was probably my favorite so far. They had so much more depth to their relationship than the previous two stories. And things got real with Austin’s drinking and when Julia’s ex came back into the picture (that was pretty predictable, but still good).

Overall pretty decent listen. Judge the narrators for yourself if you’ve listened to book 1 & 2!

His voice is ruining the story

His voice when playing a girls voice is whinny and almost patronizing. It pulled focus and made me not want to finish the book even though I love this author.

Great Story but ...........

The narrators "southern" accents were horrible. it was pure torture to listen to them. I would have stopped listening to them after the first couple of chapters had this not been part of a series. The story was good.

Good Characters, Not good Story

Like hearing about all the family characters & friends. Kinda weak storyline. Lots of unnecessary language & sexual situations. Male narrator fine with male voices but a little cringy with the female voices. Female narrator more pleasing to listen to in female & male voices.

Not steamy but a good love story

A line between love and hate, forces that pull you back. Julia & Austin’s story was not the about the physical love but more the dark side of addiction and abuse. As I enjoy the male narrator from other audible books, southern accent in this case wasn’t my fav from either narrator.
