I can honestly say I officially like this series even more than Jane's. Devoured it in one day.

Continues to be a Great Contemporary Paranormal

If you're considering this book, you've likely read its predecessors, and you're now wondering if the story is holding up, or fizzling (a common question, when reading an ongoing series).

The story is still strong. Nell is learning and evolving, both, at work, and personally.

Possible, tiny, not-quite-a-spoiler:

There is a character whom has endured a lot of nastiness, and never seems to catch a break... that character finally starts to heal in this book. I especially liked that part!

Soulwood is soul food!!

If you are looking for a great mystery and a well written story with exceptional character development, look no further! (You will wanna start w book 1 though, lol) You will wanna read the Jane Yellowrock books first, but those books are just as amazing! Both are great Series written by Faith Hunter! You will b impressed and entertained! Kristine Hvam’s audio interpretation on both series is also spot on, both series leaves u wanting for more!! And missing the characters once the boom is over!!

Faith Hunter draws you into her stories. It's impossible to stop listening. A must listen.

Green magic

The narrator, Khristine Huambo, is again amazing, bringing so much life to the characters and I love the accents. I felt bad for Rick, he has not had an easy time since his days in New Orleans and things are just getting worse. I am enjoying getting to know Mud, the younger sister of Nell.

There were so many things going on that I sometimes felt like it was moving onto another story, but most of the little side trips tied together by the end of the story.

She keeps writing better and better

I love Nell and her church lady ways. This time the enemy is a witch who is addicted to vampire blood who is looking for ultimate power. We learn more back story about Rick. A page turner. What is going on with Jane Yellowrock? A must read

wonderful Story

The stories of Nell and the other was amazing. I loved how Rick was set free from his past and the curse. I love that Nell is growing to be a townie. Highly recommend this story.
