Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author Deanna Chase comes the complete set of the Crescent City Fae saga (Books 1-3). Includes Influential Magic, Irresistible Magic, and Intoxicating Magic.

Influential MagicIt's tough being a faery in New Orleans, a city fraught with vampires... especially when their very existence drains your life-force. Willow Rhoswen, owner of The Fated Cupcake and part-time vampire hunter for the Void, is having a rough week. Four years after her twin brother's mysterious death, Willow's life is threatened, and the director saddles her with a new partner - her ex-boyfriend, David. To her horror, he's turned vamp, which causes her physical pain whenever she touches him... and any other specimen of the undead.

In order to save Willow's life, David agrees to turn double agent against the most powerful vampire organization in New Orleans. Or so he says. And she's convinced they know something about her brother's death. Unsure where David's loyalties lie, she turns to Talisen, her childhood crush, to help her solve the mystery.

Caught between two gorgeous men and a director who'll stop at nothing to control Willow's gifts, she'll have to follow her instincts and learn who to trust. Otherwise, she risks losing more than just her life.

Irresistible Magic Finding the perfect dress can be hell...especially when a stranger tries to gun you down in broad daylight. Void agent and magical baker extraordinaire Willow Rhoswen has been anticipating her first date with Talisen Kavanagh since she was 16. After eight years of waiting, there are only two things that can stand in her way - an assassination attempt and a new game-changing drug.

Talisen's invented a new elixir that creates superhumans, ones that can rival vampire strength, and everyone wants it. Including the vampires. With Willow's life on the line, he makes a deal with the devil, one she's forced to accept

Intoxicating Magic Willow Rhoswen is finally coming to terms with the fact that Talisen - the healer she thought was the love of her life - has left town and is trying to move on when a rogue vampire poisons three of Allcot's guards. With his most trusted security team on the verge of death, the notorious Cryrique leader orders Willow to bring Talisen back to New Orleans before it's too late.

But when she gets to her hometown of Eureka, California, Willow once again finds herself the target of her brother's murderer. And suddenly no one is who they seem. With spies, secrets, and undercover missions to navigate, Willow's determined to not only survive but to do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves, all while hopefully getting her happily-ever-after.

Good story.

Interesting take on the supernatural world. The narrator was my only issue with this story; she doesn't have many different voices, so I'd gotten some of the characters confused at times and she has a REALLY hard S that drove me to headaches a few times, I couldn't listen above a certain volume. if that's an issue for you too, I would stick to the printed version.

I really wanted to like this series

I recently got into the supernatural genre and I loved the narrator in another series. I wanted to enjoy this series, but the main character (Willow) really made it so incredibly awful. She was a hypocrite, always wanting others to tell her everything they knew, but justified reasons for herself not to do the same. She didn’t think, always getting herself into trouble and then complains when everyone tries to help her. She was constantly “pissed” at everyone even though they all had to coddle her. Kinda reminded me of my ex-wife. It took forever to get through this read because I kept stopping out of annoyance. The frugal side of me made me endure it because I paid for this disappointment.

Willow was a weakling

The books were okay and as I bought them I wanted to finish but it was hard too as I hated Willow being such a weakling fae. She was always in some sort of distress. It got old

good

a little predictable at times. the same scenarios repeat over and over. her dog gets hurt "Liiiink" and then he's okay. she falls down and then she's okay. over and over. but still good.

kind of felt like Jody foster was reading it to me but still okay. also, ugh is not pronounced "ugg"

Lots of eye rolls!

I liked the story idea but the main character made me roll my eyes all throughout the book. Without giving the story away what is portrayed as being a strong independent female was more of a stubborn, selfish, spoiled brat!

nothing is happening

struggling to finish the first book. 2 hours in and nothing has happened. If you like long drawn out books that do not have a dense plot this is for you.

Very Good Story-All 3 books

Very good story. I listened to simply because Gabra Zackman was the narrator. Regardless, it was a very well written story with an interesting take on a world where humans, Fairies (not Fae, sex driven males), and vampires. One particular vampire I would enjoy learning how he gets to the pseudo happy ending in the epilog. Narrator was awesome as always. What was annoying about it? The main character, Willow, is a bit too...wimpy, I think is the word, for a Void agent. The Void is much like the CIA for supernaturals. Willow is partnered with her BBF because she can since when a vampire is near. But she has no combat training. She freezes whenever there is fighting and when she finally decided to "help" she ends up getting hurt so everyone focuses on her and bad guys get away. Willow does end up having a unique power and a very loving, forgiving, if helpless, personality. I also like that while vampires may become colder/less human, as time goes by, they aren't all evil. They care for and love others.
You even like the "Devil you know" mob like boss.

They all work together across the 3 books to take down a fanatical vampire bent on protecting humans from....guess who? All other vampires. Nature of fanatics-they can't see the irony in the cause.

If you enjoy paranormal stories without graphic love scenes, interesting plot twists, that all tie up in an happy ending, you will probably enjoy this 3 book story.
