No, it moved way too slow. The characters were weak except for Vera.

What's done in the dark always comes to the light!

When your goal in life is to marry an older rich man and live the life of luxury, you don't have much to offer. Vera Lomax thought she was the business! She got her hooks in and tried to milk it for all it was worth! But when one of her husbands affairs produced a child, and years later he finds out about it; in spite of Vera's actions to keep him from knowing of her existence. Vera was fit to be tied! With Vera's deciet growing and her husbands health failing, Vera knew she would be on easy street! But when what she doesn't know catches up with her, the lap of luxury she'd been living in slowly starts to fade away! The book was very intresting and kept you intrested, the narrators were good. Mary you put your foot in this one! Great read, you won't be dissappointed!

Great story!

This story is not a predictable one. I wasn't sure where it was going but it kept me on my toes the whole time. That Vera is really scandalous and pretty much made me mad thru the whole book. The book overall was one of the best stories I've listened to.

I couldn’t stop listening to this book! The story line, the narrators superb! Loved it

Good but Vulgar

I like ms Monroe’s story writing but she makes it out like women talk vulgar all the time and I know very few women who talk the way Vera talks. Talking about sex and swearing I don’t mind but talking vulgar I can’t stand. If it wasn’t for that I would have given the book 5 stars.

Amazing Read

I enjoyed every moment of this book. It was realistic and teaches valuable lessons. The author was once again spot on.
